*just a note - this is kind of a...technical question. i doubt any of you is going to get any sexual pleasure from this post, so please realize that now!*

Over the years my cycle has pretty much fallen into a normal routine. At first it was very volatile, coming and going with no regularity to any of its aspects. So! Over the past six months or so i have also noticed that I can now detect when i am ovulating. There is a distinct twinge in the general area that increases to a pretty painful cramp, but it goes away after a day or so.

My question really involves the next thing, and comes from my relative naivete on the subject - I noticed today, and then remembered from last month, that I have a slight flush to my cheeks, I look healthier, or more attractive, more to the point..also, I feel a restlessness, like I NEED sex, it's like, whether I want to or not, I'm halfway to orgasm for about two days, and the only cure is to "relieve the itch" more often than usual.

But I kind of like it! I know that, biologically, my body is doing things to make conception as easy as possible. I wonder if anybody else 1) notices when she's ovulating (and is this something that most women can detect, that you know of?) and 2)has noticable "symptoms" like I do.

Yes, I can even narrow it down to which ovary is doing the ovulation by the side of the body that's cramping. Afterwards, I get mondo mega bitchy. Because I'm not getting any. I have to have sex. I've also noticed that I'm more likely to get to compliments from the male customers, and some female ones, during those few days.

I always have a thick mucas plug that is super stretchy. Followed by becoming VERY wet and staying that way for the next day or two. (WELL SHE DID ASK!!!!)

Oh yeah, baby...:)

Yes, like clockwork
I get the same little 'cramp", or twitch as I've referred to it till now, but mine only happens for an hour or two.
It's off to the side a little bit away from my uterus. I also get very horny and "hot", I will feel that way until I start my period too... unsually for 7-10 days. I am wondering too, how many women experiance these things and other "symptoms'?

Yes and yes. Relax, you're a normal, healthy female. :)

Know exactly what you mean...

I get the "cramp" for about an hour and then I'm like a nypho for about two weeks, sometimes longer. Drives my husband crazy because he doesn't get much sleep during that time. Then I turn into Mrs Hyde for a week and then it starts all over again. Glad to know it isn't just me.

yeah I get the twinge, I know which side it is. I get the muccus then Im wet and horny for about 7 days. I know exactly what you are all talking about. I also though get horney just after my period too. Anyone else get horny just after their period?? Oh and I get an aroma or so Im told. I cant smell it but both my long term bfs said they could and it drove them nuts!

Horny before my period ... horny after my period ... wet and horny between my periods. Just plain horny I guess! :D

I dunno about the rest of you, but that post got me off.

I disagree. I'm getting a great deal of sexual pleasure from this thread.
The only thing that would make me more turned on right now would be Cheyenne and WS talking about that cap thingy and going into great detail.

I give this thread a four! Laurel, check your snail mail soon, I'm about to pee in a vial and send it to you.

Wow, I just skipped the first page and got to the good stuff.
Now is that intense nausea I feel or arousal? It's so hard to tell.

Oh my....yes, I often get very horny around my ovulation time. I, also, know which side the egg is coming from by the twinge on that side of my body. Sounds strange, but true. I also find that making love is so much more fulfilling during that time. My honey seems to think it's him that is making me feel this way...I don't want to hurt his feelngs by telling him it's all chemical.

The technical term for the cramping is Mittlesmirtz (sp) it's a medical term, but the spelling is probably wrong. The definition would be "slight twinge or cramping upon ovulation"

Anyway, yes, I have it..which is why I know what it's called.

Yes, I've been all hopped up for days, scouring the porn, practically...but not quite (remember my rule)...cybering all week (most might call it incessant flirtiness..you've probably noticed it), and getting off about 10 times or more a day.

Also, anyone remember the brownie episode from yesterday? That's the second pan this week...and I hate chocolate. *sigh*

I've been on the pill for about two years now, so my period is pretty regular...although, instead of getting it on that Sunday...I get it on that Tuesday. Usually for about 3 days, I'm bitchy as hell...and Monday I'm sweet as candy. Then the flow starts. This is the same pattern when I'm not on the pill...which is why I always knew that I'd be getting it the next day.

It's actually a German term. Hecate should be able to translate perfectly, and Oliver Closof could do the medical play by play, but it means "middle spotting." I think. If you spot slightly during the middle of the month, which probably happens around the time that you ovulate, that's what it refers to.

Maybe not. Here it says the 24 hour period in the middle of the cycle with cramping is mittleschmirtz.

BE VERY CARFUL! If you are on the pill you should not be ovulating!!!! I was on the pill for 8 years ... blamed my extra lubrication on getting very turned on ... My son is now 6 months old!

Twinge?? An hour or two??? Damn you ladies are lucky! I am in pain for at least three days if not longer. I definitely know when I ovulate and I am usually dripping wet when I do. The extra lube lasts about as long as the pain, but I can't say that I am hornier during that time. Usually the pain squashes any lustful desires...unless I'm handled very gently. ;)

Yes, I notice. Twinge-like pain, usually alternating sides of my body (though the older I get, the less reliable that indicator is). Definitely more in the mood for sex, though since I'm doing without sex at the moment, that just makes me crabby.

As for my appearance, I don't think I change, though I haven't made a point of looking. Usually, I'm just thinking that it's time to check the feminine necessities supply.

Twinge? I wish! Try an excruciating stabbing pain that lasts for 2 days. If I don't take my Aleve, I can barely walk. It's horrible. I wonder if it's genetic? My mother was worse off than me that way.

It's ok, I'm no longer having sex...only on the pill due to excessive cramping. *sigh*
