I don't think their age would stop them from anal, but their generation most likely would. Anal is more a product of the younger generation of the 60's and beyond. Their parents were all that experimental.

Just the opposite ... many times I heard, that back, before contraceptives where invented, anal sex was not uncommon.
Also: Do you know how the people have been before the 60s ? Back then, the people didn't talk so freely about sex, but still .... they did it.
Take a look at this picture: It's not anal sex, but I have seen similar pictures where people have anal and oral sex ... and judging by the quality of the picture, I guess it is about 80 years old (of course, the colour was added later)
