Anyone interested in a Western thread? I was going to have it revolve around the Hansens and their new Ranch Hand Jesse. His dark past bringing some unwanted attention to their trip across state, when they are attacked by Werewolves, Jesse's former friends.

The Roles I was hoping to have filled were:

George Hansen- Owner of the Ranch and Jesse's employer his wife died 4 years ago.

Catherine Hansen- George's 18 year old daughter.

A Female Ranch Hand- Suspicious of Jesse, and "friendly" with Mr. Hansen

My Character:

Michael Kaine AKA Jesse Bones
24
6'1
Short Black hair
Bio: Born Michael Kaine, Jesse was once a criminal wanted for cattle rustling all across the country. He was a member of "The Savage Patriots" a gang of werewolves who live amongst humans, and prey on the unsuspecting. Now though he's trying to go straight.

OOC: I was going to make the villians NPC's but if someone has a really good idea I may change it

Jesse Bones, Jesse Bones he had to remember! He wasn't Michael Kaine anymore. Jesse was his new name, his clean name he had to remember. Silently Jesse lifted his saddle up onto his horses back. Dusk was the stallions name, and he would be the one of two thing's Jesse Bones kept from his old life. He had sold everything else except his trusty Peacemaker.

At 24 years old he was starting his whole life over, new fresh and clean. Adjustiing the saddle so that it was snug to Dusks' belly Jesse climbed up into the saddle and set his black cowboy hat on his head. One of the local ranches was hiring new hands, and he intended to be one of them. He was tall, just over six feet and strong, with a powerful muscular build, so he was rather confident the job would be easy to get. He was a great rider, and had alot of experience with Cattle.

The town was still asleep as he began to ride out. It was a quite little place most of the time, it's people lived and died by the stage coach that came through twice a month to trade.

Spurring Dusk into easy trot, he rode out toward the Hansen Ranch. Hoping to make it there before the work started for the day. In two day's the Hansens would be headed out to drive their herd cross the state to sell them at the auction that would take place at the end of the month, if he was going to prove himself capable of the job he would need as much time as he could to help them decide.

It took him well over an hour to reach the ranch, by that time the Hansens were eating breakfast after doing their morning chores, Jesse rode up slowly, it was a large ranch, with two fields side by side between the road and the house. There was a small road leading up to the house, it ran between the fields and felt almost like a tunnel with such high fences on either side.

He decided to tell them he was 28 rather than his actual 24 years. They'd want someone with experience, and most people didn't have it by 24 like he did. Cattle Rustling can teach a boy a lot of things, and Jesse had been on so good a student.

Casey Hansen
age 18
Height 5'4
Weight 123

Casey was out on the Range as she loved a good horse ride her long blonde hair was tied in a braid and her blue eyes showed their merriment of happiness as she went as fast as she could ...She wore men britches and a loose top with a corssette to hold her breast in...

She was never up to date with the local designs nor did she care .. She was just happy playing on the land like the rest of the men .. She worked like the rest of them . Her daddy was hopeing she was a boy and instead he got her .. So what else was the man to do but teach his only daughter how to be a man...

She had a rope and a gun on the side of her saddle as she came up to the Cattle and watched them grazeing just in case any wild animals came along ...

Jesse saw the girl riding out amongst the cattle. It was odd that a girl would be out before her father, but he supposed that the man must have been around somewhere.

Spurring his horse on he rode up to the house, gazing out across the fields, he watched the girl who was apparently looking back at him until he heard a voice behind him.

"Can I help you?" It was a woman's voice, Mrs. Hansen maybe? Turning to face the speaker, he was shocked at how young she was. If she was any older than him, it would have only been by a few months. There was no way this woman had given birth to the pretty little thing riding in the field.

"Ahhh I was looking for Mr.Hansen..." Jesse said, "I'm was here to see about the opening for another ranch hand?"

The woman looked up at him with an odd look doubtful look. After a few seconds that seemed like several hours she walked into the house and called Hansen.
A minute or so later, an heavy set elderly man, who looked as if he had once been rather muscular came out of the house.

"Ello there" he said "And who might you be?"

"Hello mista' Hansen I'm here about the opening for ranch hand, my name's Jesse Bones" Dismounting Jesse offered his hand. Hansen shook it.

"Well, as of yet we've not gotten anyone else so I s'pose we could give you a chance to prove you'self" George looked at Jesse appraisingly. "I tell you what, ride out and meet my daughter, she'll show ya 'round then you can come up to the house and we can discuss business"

"Alright then sir, will do" Climbing back up into the saddle, Jesse rode out toward the girl in the field.

Casey Hansen

Casey watched the cattle waiting she knew that damn pesky wolf was out there .. She hated hurting the animals but as a group they were deadly just like The Cougar..

Rubbing the scar on her leg she remember her last encounter she didn't think she would of lived if it wasn't for her knife ..She grabed her water skin and took a drink .. She knew that the men were in the west field bringing in the other cattle to get the calfs cut and branded..

She heard hoof beating behind her as she looked and saw the same guy that showed up.. Wondering if he was applying for the new job that papa put .. Old Smith just couldn't do it anymore... And She hoped papa would be giveing her the ranch probably not enless she was married..

The land was a hard life and no matter what there wasn't much time for soucializeing with the folks in town .. Her and Papa went to church every sunday ...

She saw the stranger come up "Howdy Stranger care to explain your business before I shoot you or would you like me to shoot you first and then you explain , IT don't give me much of nevermind really"

She pointed her gun at him and waited

Guns?

Jesse was surprised, maybe she hadn't been watching as he talked to her father.

"My Name's Jesse Bones, your pa said you could show about the place?"

It was a pleasant surprise to meet a woman who could use a gun, it was rare in these parts, though not so much in the larger towns where a girl often needed one to protect herself.

"How 'bout you put the gun away suga'?" Jesse drew his colt out it's holster. "Mine's bigger anyway"

Casey looked at the man and snorted "So Pa hired you huh" she put her gun away and smiled 'Yeah you may have a bigger one sir but I'm the fastest here on the ranch" she looked him "Well at least you got your self a horse " she took off

Like her saddle was on fire as she looked at him "Make sure you can keep up We don't want no green horn tell us what to do " with that she showed him their stalk of cattle..

Showing him how big the ranch was .Was going to take all day what the hell was her Pa thinking she wondered not like she didn't need a foreman but she took care of everything plus a whole lot more since her father started kicking up on the age...

"Were ya From?"

"I'm from up north, been a lumberjack for what musta bin nearly six years" Jesse lied through his teeth, he knew enough about logging to act as if he had been a lumberjack though.

He knew it sounded fake, but he hoped she would not push the issue.

"So your pa taking the herd cross the state then?"

Casey looked at him and sighed "Yeah we are and I'm supposed to find some damn husband too " she shruged 'GO on back to Pa tell him I said its all good to go"

She moved fast as she saw one of the heifers about to give birth as she got off her house she spoke softly to the beast as she touched her head "Its alright mama I'm here to help you " she watched the cow lay down "She not going to make it other wise "

She got at the other end and reached inside of the cow to see where the calf was to make sure both feet came out at the same time she told the beast to push as she worked on her she forgot her campion at the moment ..

Jesse watched with a smile as the girl got down to help the cow, he could admire that, the determination and grit it took to help birth a calf was not common.

But after watching her work for a few minutes he decided it would be best if he helped out. Dismounting he led the girl's horse a few dozen feet back and the tied the two sets of reins together loosely.

The he took of his hat and coat tossing them over his saddle and kneeling beside the cow and taking hold of it's head, speaking in his deep soft voice. Calming the creature as best he could. Most animals liked him, though cattle less than others. Despite his best efforts this cow was still finicky, it probably sensed the wolf in him.

Straining to get out, tearing at it's restraints as he battle to keep it inside.

Casey looked up to see what was going on as she heard a soft male voice all husky and soft that was enough to put shivers up and down her spine ..

Her big green eyes looked at him and then she went back to work she knew what she didnt' want to do and that was open up the cow .. She could possible loose the calf as well and that didn't bode well .Her brows scrunched together as she concentrated on the calf ..

First the legs came out and she smiled "COme one sweety you can do it " she said softly as she helped pull the calf out .. She didn't know how long she was helping or why but as time passed she manage to pull the calf out and help the sac off him and smile "Well Momma its a boy " she made sure his air way was clean as she steped back to see if the mother would lick the calf and help him when he needed it ..

She looked over at Jesse "Thanks " she smiled at him for the first time

Jesse grinned broadly, she was alot better looking when she smiled... he'd have to comment on it later. The cow began to lick the new born bull, and he watched as Casey wiped her hands off on a rag and climbed up onto her horse.

"So can I get that tour now?" Jesse asked with a dry chuckle, "Or do you want to get washed up first?"

Marcus Cornell rode his tired nag slowly into the sleepy town, the hollow sound of it's hooves echoing off the white washed walls of the buildings on either side, his eyes searching from side to side as he read the faded signs that announced the business of each one.

"Beds" read one as it creaked on it's lone chain, the holes in the board showing the aim of a past drunk who had unloaded his six shooter into the sky...

"Beer & Whizkey" read a second, making Marcus smirk at the misspelling and wonder if it were deliberate...

"Barber" read another, causing the lean man to run his fingers through blond hair now worn in a tangled mass to his shoulders...

"Stable" came the one the blue eyed rider was looking for, and he guided the tired horse to the open doors, to slide off of it's back and untie his saddlebags, then toss them over his shoulder as he led the mare inside.

"Give her a bag of oats and a good brushing, she's earned both"

Marcus spoke softly and tossed a silver dollar into the air, the coin disappearing in the hostlers grubby hands as the man eyed his newest customer.

"When does the barber open up?"

Marcus inquired and rubbed the weeks old growth on his face, his other hand pulling a dusty handkerchief from his neck to wipe the sweat of his deeply tanned brow.

"Round a bout 9 o'clock, but you look pretty enough to me, sweetheart"

The foul smelling stableman retorted, his eyes gleaming as he taunted the tired and seemingly unarmed horseman.

"Mister, we don't know each other do we?"

Marcus sighed and pushed his low brimmed hat back, his own eyes bright and alert as he stepped forward to eye the repugnant manure pusher.

"And because of that I'll cut you some slack in my rope, but if you EVER speak out of turn again..."

"You'll what? Bore me to death with your fancy speeches and pretty looks?"

The hostler interrupted and grinned a toothless grin, his hand wrapping around a well used Colt...

Marcus's hand moved in a blur, pulling a silver colored dagger from behind his neck, then flipping it end over end through the air to pin the gun hand of the hostler to the wall, the squelching thud of it quickly followed by the mans high pitched scream.

"Lets just say I'm hoping you'd get the point of this friendly conversation"

Marcus returned and moved forward swiftly, to kick the pistol out of reach before gripping the ivory clad handled knife and pull it free from the wall and hand of the man.

"Before it gets...painfull?"

Casey laughed "Yeah you will get your tour right into the pound over yonder!" she got back up on her horse and smiled at him

"Come on I'll show you the water hole and the whole range and if you have any questions well that depends on if i want to answer them or not" she moved her horse more slowly now ..

"Tell me Jessie why in the world would a lumberjack want to be a ranch hand?"
