And it has now happened. The Royal Mail is privatised. They first intended to do it in 1969. It took until 1979 to privatise British Telecom which was part of The Post Office before 1969.

Private contractors working for, and paid for by the NHS, have been around for a couple of decades.

If it is appropriate, the NHS will pay for treatment in a private hospital.
