Although we have several in the house, I've never read a Harry Potter book and probably never will. Not really my thing.

I read a few of them just so I could talk to my kids about them. The first one is not too bad - interesting concept etc. but after that they just churn and churn and churn........ (that's not a 'catroar' - that's a yawn!).

I love these books! We have hardcover and paperback copies of almost all of the books--the paperbacks are for the kids.

I'm glad that my eight-year-old is starting to enjoy them as well.

I've only seen the movies (first three) and liked them very much. I bought the first book, translated in Dutch. Did not like to read it because of the strange (translated) names. They are (sometimes) still strange in the original version, but for some strange reason I can take that much better than in Dutch...

I should buy the original versions of the books I guess.

I like a lot of the caracters (Harry, Ron Hagrid...), but can most identify with the girl... she's called Hermelien Griffel in Dutch
