Does anyone profess to believe/indulge/toy with/take part in/ this lifestyle? Do you know anyone who does? Is it a turn on for you, or the person you know, to be part of this activity? Is it sexy? Would you want to have sex with a witch/warlock and what would that be anyway?

I'm not talking you-think-your-a-vampire stuff but rather normal(?) people engaged in the supernatural as it applies to sex.

I saw an article in Maxim about this...

But I got distracted with the "Best Practical Jokes of All Time" article.

I'll go back and read it now.

I have a good friend who considers himself a witch (and not in a freaky, goth way). I don't think it's particularly sexy, it's just a religion. That's like saying, "Ooh, yeah, Presbyterians turn me on!"

I'm a witch. I can't say my sexual practices are different than anyone else's because of my religious beliefs.

Nothing that occurs in nature -- i.e., sex -- is supernatural. Really, Tony. Think this through.

SEX IS TOO SUPER NATURAL!!!!!

You take that back, right now!!!

It is too!!

It is stranger than an alien autopsy and more fun than a trip through the twilight zone!!

Take it back!!

Please?

I won't take it back, but I will state that sex is super. Really, really, superlatively super.

Is that okay?

I see him, right there where he always is, but a lot of dollies aren't coming through. Wonder if Laurel done and broke something?

Ambro

I see CL's sexy dollie but not your bubble guy.

CreamyLady, Pyper
Is it really considered a religion?

Good.

Seriously, I have a lot of trouble with people who think that being a witch is cool, sexy, hot, mysterious, or peculiar in any way. It is what one makes it to be, and stereotyping us is demeaning.

Of course silly! Neo-pagan and Wiccan are names for it. (No offense to any Neo-pagans who consider themselves distinct from Wiccans and vice versa.) Witchcraft is alive and well.

Yes, it really is a religion. It isn't necessarily organized, but it is a religion.

As for Ambrosious' avatar, I think geocities is having trouble. Todd explained that last night; something about bandwidth.

I switched mine to one that Guru fixed for me, at angelfire.

Pyper, Wicca is a definite religion by itself. Not all witches are "neo-Pagans" or "Wiccans." It's impossible, really, to categorize them all, but Wicca is a degreed tradition.

I am a Dianic witch. Not the same thing at all.

Yes, I realize this witch thing is highly unorganized. The only witch I know considers himself a Neo-pagan AND a Wiccan. What do I know, I'm a secular humanist. :)

Yes, me. And it doesn't necessarily have to do with sex though there are forms of communion that do involve sex.

I have studied Egyptian Magick (Golden Dawn, Crowley), "witchcraft"/wicca, tantra, and other disciples as well as being a student of Zen, philosoply, etc... etc...

I am a pagan (not neo). It is a belief system. I have been called witch and warlock in my time. (Interestingly enough for a witch/wiccan to call someone a Warlock is considered derogatory - hence I relish it when someone does call me Warlock!)

I know enough practical magick to be dangerous. *weg* (Though as a rule I tend to avoid ceremonial magick. The motions of ceremonial practice are a method of focusing the mind. After enough time/practice one can learn to focus one's mind without the outer trappings of devices and ceremonies.

For the most part I am a solo practicioner. My belief system is one I've put together for myself from various disciplines. I find much truth buried deep inside different philosophies and beliefs and often they are saying the same things, just from a different angle. (For anyone interested Scott Cunningham has written several wonderful books for those interested in wicca as a solo practicioner)

The only reason I'm discussing this topic is because of an article in a local paper about a rise in the number of teenagers (13-16 yrs old) engaging in witchcraft. The article was very stereotypical so I thought I would get better info here.

I realize that the mind controls everyone's idea of what is sexy and that there must be more important reasons to be a witch or warlock than sex. But, what would be the the cause of a rise in teenage attraction other than sex appeal? Usually, teens that young do things based on infactuations or what's hot. Therefore my question, is it sexy? Is that what causes the attraction?

If someone wanted to introduce me to this religion how would they explain it to me?

Also, please forgive me if I use terms incorrectly as I am ignorant on this topic.

Tony, try this site:

http://www.witchvox.com

The Witches' Voice has been around for a long time, and one of its missions is education.

As for the teenagers, well, think of Charmed, and Practical Magic, and The Craft, and how cool it made everyone look to be a witch.

I get that a lot.

Great description using those three. Although, I thought Practical Magic was terrible. I bought 'The Craft' I enjoyed it so much and as for Charmed...do guys watch it for the plot?

Thanks for the link.

It's a matter of entertainment taste, Tony. In my opinion, Practical Magic had a better story than The Craft, which was ghastly. Many of us had kids coming to us after that movie saying, "Gimme a spell to change my hair/eye color."

The response, of course, was "C-L-A-I-R-O-L" or "C-O-N-T-A-C-T L-E-N-S-E-S."

I still get requests for a flying spell, too. Go figure.

None of them are particularly realistic. As for Charmed -- does it have a plot?

Creamylady, I have a question. I can tell from your tone that you consider spells to change hair/eye color ridiculous. So, do you use spells at all? Do you perform rituals expecting to gain some kind of desired effect? If so, what kind, and why are they acceptable whereas a flying spell is not?

It's a matter of being realistic, Pyper.

Spellwork is a matter of externalizing a desire, ritualizing the means to satisfy the desire, and carrying it through. It requires concentration, and a bone-deep desire to change something -- a bad habit, a way of life, a way of thinking.

The spell doesn't do the work for you, though. It enables you to see the path to the desired result and puts you in a mental position to do the work. I can take a paper poppet that looks like a beach ball with legs, cut large chunks out of it to make it look like Barbie, and burn it so that I could lose weight. I wouldn't lose a pound, though, unless I was willing to exercise more and eat less, and maintain healthy eating habits.

Were I to do a prosperity spell, the same goes. I could ask to win the lottery and that would be pie in the sky. However, if I worked out in my mind what I really needed, and possible way to get what I needed, I could craft a spell to make me more confident and energetic about getting a good job.

I do consider the hair color/eye color/flying spells ridiculous, because they are. They are fiction. Real spellwork is like prayer; it takes time and concentration and real work to achieve the desired result, and even then it might not be what you expected. The old saying about being careful what you wish for is absolutely true.

Oh I get it. A spell would be used to focus your energy into something. (Me, if I wanted to lose weight, I would just exercise, sans spell, but different things work for everybody I guess.)

I can't remember the Wiccan saying...something about letting yourself have whatever you want. All I can think of is the phrase from Rocky Horror, "Don't dream it, be it." That's not it though. This is going to drive me crazy.

You know this topic it self could be insulting

But I'm a witch, When the husband and I have sex it like just everyone else...I have great sex with my husband why would I want magic, Plus If you think there is magic because there are spells your more of a fool then what I thought. There is a Positive and negative to everthing...

Also don't watch movies, They are fiction not real life...

All of the pagan and wicca, And others believe in one thing

Do not harm none!!!!

blessed be
THE WIFE
