Witch needs a favor

Yep, witches again. It's summer before the last year of school and our lead is basking in the sun, trying to work on her tan line when all of a sudden, she hears a voice and sees a black cat walking over to her. The cat then states its her classmate's familiar. Our lead freaks out and runs inside to lock herself in the bathroom, only to see her classmate's face in the mirror.

Classmate has always been a bit weird: constantly dressing in black, picking up worms during rain storms, and talking constantly to animals and the odd knock-knacks she carries around. The classmate then reveals she is in fact a witch and she has a serious problem. Her mom is tired of her staying at home in her room and had taken her tomes. Classmate's magic can't be used against her family and her mom just thought she was playing all these years. Her mother will only give them back if she starts spending time with her classmates and starts doing normal teen stuff including getting a date to homecoming in the fall.

...so she was wondering if our lead would pretend to be her girlfriend until homecoming and let her hang out with her. The lead asks what's in it for her and the witch promises help with her homework and use of any spells she knows. Our lead gets her phone number and promises to call her, even though she thinks she's just suffering from heat stroke.

Later on, she decides to give the girl a call. needing someone to spot her at the gym, she has her classmate meet her there so they can work out. Classmate shows up in her usual clothes so lead makes her strip to a sports bra and loans her some bike shorts. She starts to realize that there are benefits to dating a with as the girl has a decent figure and some of her spells are useful (like when she convinces the gym to give them free memberships for a year).

So the idea is certainly tempting and despite her power, the witch seems more eager to please than demanding or dangerous...what could possibly go wrong?

"Those who play with the devil's toys will be brought by degrees to wield his sword."-R. Buckminster Fuller

Seems an appropriate quote.

There are just a few questions that would need to be cleared up before moving forward with this.

1. What are the other limits on the magic? I'll accept it doesn't work on family just because. But mind control is such a basic power that having a fake S/O should be (a problem all it's own morally and perhaps it's exhausting to keep up) but that would be a hurdle.

2. What year is this where lesbians are considered normal? I'm not knocking homosexuals at all here. I've no qualms at all with them. But they are not standard by any means and if I was trying to prove to my parents that I could act normal bringing home (well in my case a guy) would be the exact opposite of the correct tactic. It would be like if my father cam out and said "You need to be manly and join a sport like I did at your age" and I responded by becoming a gymnast or male cheerleader. You may be within the letter of the law but you're violating the hell out of the spirit.

3. What is special about this girl, this again loops back to what can this witch do? Because even if the girl was 100% using me for appearances if she could spring for the dance and could hook me up with good grades or hell video games I think I would have found it in my teenage heart to go hang around her unless she was legendarily fugly. I'm talking smells so bad you can taste it, one yellow tooth and as wide as she is tall.

Fair questions.

1. The power isn't godlike though it does appear that way at first. For example, when they get the gym memberships, it's not mind control in the traditional sense and requires compounds. Essentially, the guy is the manager and he was going to try and pressure the girls into sex in exchange for not calling the cops for them sneaking in. The witch saw a pube on the floor and grabbed it so she could cast a sympathetic spell. She then alters his mood so his lust goes in a different path. Instead of trying to satisfy his own lust, he suddenly thinks ensuring the gym has some regular hot teens in there to ogle would be a benefit so it would be in his best interest to instead give them memberships. Pretty much she became a voice in his head. If she had all her tomes memorized she could summon or disperse storms, make things rot or grow with a touch, put curses on other people etc. but she's not going to be blasting fireballs or summoning lightning blasts. Even her illusions and familiars are essentially single target single purpose spells. With a little care, she could use it to gain lots of power and wealth but I takes a lot of focus and careful planning. Spells she actually has memorized are the stmpathetic Magic, repair/cut material (cloth, tires, etc.) a few illusions, and some light water magic (for example, they go to a party and the girl tries to get the witch to lighten up and drink. The girl comes back and finds the witch drinking her seventh cup. She snatches it away and finds out the witch can pull a reverse Jesus and turn booze into water.

2. I figured the witch's mom appears to be one of those parents that are "too supportive" at first. She's just happy to have her daughter dating someone, anyone. Girl's parents think it's just a phase or she wants attention. They don't think she's serious and as long as she doesn't make too big of a scene, they could care less. As for their schoolmates, they bullied the witch for years including accusations of being gay, so they see it as confirmation and a freedom from guilt over their previous treatment o her (because teenagers are horrible) they think the girl is doing it as a prank on the witch and the guys just hope they'll get to see some girl on girl. Witch genuinely is attracted to girl and figured if her mom is going to force her to put herself out there, she at as well go for someone she likes. The girl was also rumored to be in a sexual relationship with a girl (with the truth being it was just a quickie she had) towards the end of the last school year so the witch thought she'd be a good choice.

3. Well she figured the initial offer was a hallucination (maybe she just uses a student directory to call the witch instead of the familiar or the witch's image telling her it. She only believes in the magic once she sees it up close. Once she believes, she goes whole hog and tries to use the girl's powers for her selfish needs. She normally wouldn't hang out with the witch since she hangs by herself: the girl wants to be the center of attention and while she doesn't belong to any specific group, she'd rather be around a group than one on one with someone for very long. Which can cause issues since the witch wants starts to fall for her and most of their dates are one on one.

I'll second that lesbian prom dates aren't going to be what helicopter parents want to see. It seems like this would make more sense with a male lead.

Also, the story must contain the sentence "I put on my robe and wizard hat."

unless they use a glamour to match the date appear hetro?

...fine.

Wirch is ugly and guy is unremarkable. Witch uses her powers once after the deal is made and guy starts demanding more favors from her. Witch keeps using powers against her will but keeps reminding herself of the books to make it through. Guy is actively cheating on her by now and dumps her right before homecoming, after he forces her to make him a charm that makes him attractive to any woman. He argues she was just going to abandon him afterwards anyway, so he's justified and none of her spells allow her to hurt him and he got a protective charm that protects him from witches.

Witch is heartbroken and runs home, where her mother tries to make her feel better and let's her have her books back.

At the dance, guy is taking his pick of his classmates and is working towards building an orgy for that night. When he runs across a hot redhead who he hadn't seen before. He decides he can't wait and drags her into the bathroom to fuck. As their mid coitus in the bathroom stall, the woman tells him the witch sent her. Guy laughs and reminds her about the protection he has. Woman tells him it only works for witches, not demons. She muffles his screams with her lips and let's her leather wings wrap around him. When she leaves, he's a lifeless husk.

So the story is about an abusive, manipulative guy, who gets what's coming to him.

If you want lesbian that's fine. Unless the mom is an important character it's simple to fix her.

Witch Mom (literaly now) "You spend too much time in you books, you're going to live forever you know but you'll only be able to actually relate to teens for a few precious years. All that Twilight, Buffy, Vampire Diaries nonsense doesn't work, trust me. When you remember the founding of their country it's hard to be impressed with Cheverolets.

Well I figured mom would just be okay with it (there are some accepting parents).

I did want mom to be a bigger player though not at first. Witch thinks mom is a muggle, and mom acts like magic doesn't exist. It later gets revealed she's actually a damn powerful witch, like met Baba Yaga and lived to tell the tale powerful. Only thing is, she shut herself off from everyone and while she obtained insane amounts of power she had no idea what she wanted to do or even how to interact with others. She could get the earth to spit up gold but panicked the moment anyone asked where she got it. She could manipulate the weather but when she tried to put out a forest fire with a thunderstorm, it knocked out rescue copters and caused a drought somewhere else. She tried to steal money but realized she had no idea how to launder it. Her magic also isn't showy so she can't pass herself off as a stage magician, And her one attempt at romance ended with her alone, broke, and pregnant.

Pretty much her pursuit of arcane magic made it so she only knows how to deal with magical issues. She saw her daughter going down the same path and tried to stop her by forcing her to socialize.
