I'm about to head over for my first visit to my new specialist for some very nonstandard treatment for my liver. If all goes as planned I will soon be turning a stage 4 cirrhotic liver into a brand new shiny healthy liver.

Screw you major medical science!

Good luck Betticus. I hope all goes well and you come out better than you went in.

Thanks, they sent me home to eat to get my blood sugar up.. Now it's back for the IV. Poking holes in me.

Good luck and good veins.

You only realize how important the later is when some new nurse or tech is trying to find a vein.

Wow..that would be fantastic news!!

Good luck Betticus, hope it goes really well :rose:

Well, got the IV and a B vitamin shot. The nurse found a vein on the first attempt and they use the baby needles for the shots so yeah.. their technique could use some polishing. If there is one thing I'm not lacking for it's blood vessels.

I was talking with a guy who was there, a semi retired rancher who lives about 150 miles away and a nice lady from Montana who was in for treatment. Anyhow, he said that when he first saw this doctor back in 2007 he had been on intensive chemo for a cancer that had spread to his internal organs and that his kidneys were shutting down. He said that as of now this is the only therapy he's doing, down from twice a day to once a week and is about to be given the clean bill of health. He said his own doc can't find a trace of cancer and that all of his organs have recovered normal function.

Depending on the results of my testing compared to after I first got out of the hospital he said that given my dietary and lifestyle changes, positive attitude and sheer damn domliness that I may benefit from much less IV drug therapy. I might be able to stick with oral supplementation and get the same results. Also, he said that the inflammation in the liver and pancreas are pretty much gone already.

Just to inform you all. If you switch to a very clean vegan diet your body begins to get rid of all sorts of icky stuff and it turns out that a lot of it will come out through your skin making you have breakouts or rashes or other irritations.

Yay good luck!!

If I could, I would offer you some chapstick.
