Just got email from my younger son's teacher. I have been outed as a poet and I have to give a recitation at a poetry reading tomorrow. It's High School level, so could be a tough crowd.

Wish me luck and I'll tell you how it goes.

Oh yeah, I let her choose from CAREFULLY screened selections and she has asked me to read "Elaborate Decolletage," "Forgotten Words" and "Weeds in the Garden."

Wow, that's impressive!!! She picked some great ones for you to read.

Good luck and don't forget to picture the audience (the over 18 people anyway) in their underwear or naked, whatever works for you.

;)

Cat returns deep into the poetic closet

oooh it's tomorrow? You'll be wonderful, I know. And you sell that poetry. Make em love it!

:rose:

What an honour! You'll be great! Cudos to the teacher for promoting poetry.

I have not read Weeds in the Garden yet (will do), but the other ones kickas all the ass you could ever ask for. Go knock them dead. :)

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the vote of confidence.

I was thinking about what to say other than reading the poems and I had to chuckle.

Q

Can you please tell us what the inspiration was for these poems?

A

Sure.

Elaborate was the result of a "Same Title Challenge" inspired by an almost bare boob (Lauren's).

Weeds in the Garden was inspired by a conversation between two ladies (Maria and Eve). One lady (Maria) has this serene garden from which she writes some incredible poetry. The other lady also writes some incredible poetry but evidently has a much less serene environment.

Forgotten Words was a response to a thread entitled "What is Poetry?" by yet another incredible poet (Lauren) who has a picture of herself with a breast almost on display.

All of these poems are posted at Literotica.com.

Q

What is Literotica.com?

A porn site....

Are you talking classroom or auditorium?

Classroom should be good, most will be attentive. If it's auditorium I'll cross my fingers for you.

...all the girls will swoon and sigh, and most of the guys will say yeah dude, after seeing this reaction.

Then after question period, we will have many new "of age" poets trying to woo the ladies, and poetess' trying to seduce the men ;)

I just wish you would read poetry to me when you spank me

a gal can't have everything can she?

You'll do great Fool, the selections of poems are awesome:rose:

Well,

It was a typical High School crowd. About 50-60 people. Mostly kids that probably didn't know what to say. But it's done. See if I get any feedback from my son later tonight.

Did they have any questions?

The teacher really didn't give a chance for questions. I should have caught that one, but I was distracted...:(

Ohgodddd... that is too funny!! Please? Regardless what else happens... will you be my private tutor?

You'll be wonderful- I just know it... (something I never do!)

edited to bring in flowers... :rose: :rose: :rose:

Well, talked to my son. He said I was a big hit both with the kids and the teacher.

She said all kinds of good things about me. Said I set a great tone for the event (I was the first poet) and that I was an excellent public speaker.

Wants me to come back for a question and answer session and to talk a little bit about my background.

Boy do I have her fooled....:D
