SNOW DAY TOMORROW! :D

My kids are at my mother's. I'm staying in and reading smut all day long! (Gotta catch up on the contest entries!)

Anybody else?

(Remind me of this when I lose a day off our 5 day weekend for Easter. Cuts into our camping trip.)

Nope I'll be working, Nika will be east of me tomorrow and only a memory, like so many others past loves - 2 ships in the night. Well, working and shoveling all this white shit!!!

Watching it snow--again. It gives me some time to read the Valentine's Day contest entries, though. :) But then I'll have to shovel the snow tomorrow. :( Looking forward to spring.

Winter in the UK has been a bit of a non-event :( I spend all summer waiting for it and this year it hasn't really made it to England. Global warming bites the root :(

It's the new thing. They name the winter storms like the hurricanes. I'm pretty sure the Weather Channel invented it.

I'd be more than happy to send some of our winter weather over your way. I'm way past tired of it.

"Nika?" Someone named the son-of-a-bitch?

Yes, as patientlee said. The Weather Channel started it. It hasn't exactly caught on. I didn't know the name until I saw the thread.

So we had our fun this morning. A 2-hr school delay turned into a cancellation when the power went out. We have it back (as you might have guessed), and were only out for about 2.5 hours. According to the news, there are over 500k people in the Philly area without power.

So nice to have power back. We'd already pulled out the Lincoln Logs and Tinkertoys for the kids. ;) Had to go old school to get information -- hello, radio! And then when the power came back on, PennGirl said, I want the power to stay off! Apparently she likes playing in the sort-of dark.

Nice to hear stories of the possibles over there, and I sincerely hope all will be well.

However:
To :Whoever decided to chuck out you old bad weather and export it to the EU, I do hope you get it back in Spades, 'cos we've had enough of it already.
