Winter Holiday Contest - the support thread

The Winter Holiday Contest starts today. See sticky at the top of the AH.

I submitted my first entry 15 minutes ago. Entry 2 is half-written. I am using these entries as part of my flagging NaNoWriMo effort.

Entry one, Nursery Santa, is another of Og's special contenders for the coveted (or not) last place. The only sex takes place off-stage. Sneaky.

I will be doing a christmas story but not yet. I have na no to think of but i do have my christmas story bubbling so I will probably work on it in odd moments over the next few weeks and submit it closer to december. it might not have as much time to acru reads and votes but thats the way it'll go

This time, I’m doing the poetry thing!

A spoof of

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

My version is:

"Shopper’s Orgy; Or, The Saturnalia Before Christmas!"

or it will be if Laurel enters it so. The whole McGilla couldn’t be entered through the Submission Form so I had to flag Laurel with a special request.

I seem to be having difficulty with lengths.

The original version, matching verse for verse with “Visit from St Nick:” ended up 568 words — too short for the contest. So, I extended it, and it is now 829 words. Now my title is too long for the Title Field .

Some days it feels like it’s just Me & Me against The World!


And you never know about humor.

It may be found hilarious, but then again, it could be a shoo-in for the coveted Mole Position.*

Although, I've gotta admit, if there's anyone who can undercome such a sneaky master stroke, it would be Lit's own, the master of literary disaster, The Great Og.

However, just like the Four Tops, "I'll be there" - in this case with a slow, dull, unimaginative, cliche' riddled Lesbian Sex story.

And quite short for you. From the title, I had visions of a lactation story. Boy, was I wrong!

Read it this morning, but for some reason Lit is being weird when I try to vote/comment. Same thing happened with sirhugs' story. I'll try again later.

There are only 7 stories (plus mine) posted so far ... and I'm determined to read those over my morning coffee. 3 down, 4 to go.

I got my first holiday contest entry submitted. 'Old Coats' will be a strong contender for the anchorman slot. I have attracted the unwanted attention of one or more 1 bombers and I feel I have the inside lane on the anchorman slot.
