Winter Contest Views

I was wondering about the number of views ( hits) the stories in the contest get, since they appear on the New List and then in their respective categories as well as on the special contest list.

I have no idea whether my story has had less or more views than the average so it would be great if some of the writers with submissions would give an indication for comparative purposes.

Discovering Daniel was posted on 28 November and as of today has 7720 hits.

So far all folks have done is look. Well, I'm curious myself so here goes.

I posted my story on November 24, so far I had about 5000 views. Not saying they all read it of course.
Edited: 37 votes.

I'm happy with that number. I mean, imagine that many people standing in front of your house!

But then, like you said Dr. M, incest always gets the most views, LOL! You said on a previous post that you'd like someone to refer you to a good incest story. Well even though it's tuting my own horn, I've had lots of positive feedback on this one so would like to suggest you give it a read. as of (very early on) Dec. 5, it has 6,000 views and
26 votes.
That's more than I could expect this soon otherwise.
It's more than the story I posted in November and is
catching up to the story that I posted in October. (For
that matter, it's more than a story I posted in August of
2002.
Might I suggest that others give the date on which they took the numbers; it doesn't do much good for me to know you posted the story on date XXXX and got YYYY views unless I konw YYYY views as of ZZZZ.

My winter contest story went up the 2nd of December, it has slightly over 1,000 views as of 0500 EST with only 16 votes, barely holding onto 4.5 average. I guess submitting a non-erotic story so late wasn't such a gooe idea, but I submitted it for all of you folks as a sort of Christmas present to enjoy with your whole family.

Elf Pleasure was posted on 16th November and has 13731 views and 141 votes. The views are fine but I am surprised at the amount of votes. Only one of my other stories has more votes than this one and others are up for more than a year. And I hadn't thought that the NonHuman category was so popular either!

The average is not even a 4.5 though.

Uther Pendragon, I hear what you say with regard to dates when the view figures were recorded, but just take the date of the posting by the author as a guideline. It appears in the bottom corner under the AV.

Talking about stories with 'Santa' in the title, dr Mabeuse's with Jesus and Santa was one of the most original, imaginative and tongue in cheek witty that I have ever read. There is some unforgettable dialogue and description in it that I won't forget for a long time...

Not having a winter contest story I don't have to worry about all of this crap. But I do pity all of you who do have an entry for the 5th anniversary contest when your story is hit by 1's from people who you considered friends because they want to win so badly.

Hmm. I have a question. Do the "views" counters do weird things sometimes? Even though my winter contest story has been getting more votes, the views are stuck at the same number I gave yesterday. And my 2nd story currently shows 16 votes...and 8 views. What in the world is up with that?

Oh, that just means that your story has been viewed by people with multiple personalities. THEY are allowed to vote more than once.

Mhari, the views get updated once a day while the votes show up as soon as they are voted.

But then maybe Svenska is right.
