Think about it. RJ Reynolds with nicotine for years. Then cigarettes are found to be cancerous. A movement to make the Tobacco companies pay for the damage they cause starts. Smoking is banned in most enclosed spaces.

So what do they do? Invent Krispy Kreme donuts.

What's next?

I heard on the radio someone was sueing Macdonald's for various things.... coffee being unexpectedly hot therefore burning unsuspecting children (i.e. negligence) something like 'lo fat ice cream' having like 3 times the fat of ordinary ice cream...

Proper techinical stuff... none of this 'i'm fat and i blame the golden arches' type nonsense

Krispy Kreme doughnuts have been available in the South since the 1940s and 50s, long before cigarettes were officially recognized as harmful.

Be nice, please.

Winston-Salem is my home town and its a pretty good place to live. I have many friends and relatives who are still there.

Feel free to blame the companies... don't blame the town. It was there before RJR or Krispy Kreme ever opened.

Besides that, nobody forces people to become addicted to ciggarrettes or to over eat at Krispy Kreme. We all must assume some responsibility for any addictions we develop. How's that for a novel concept?

Right on, Desdemona!

There's a huge epidemic of blame.
Noone forces you to smoke or eat donuts.
:D
