Wine Choices

This may be in the wrong place but I really wanted to get opinions from the people on these boards. The idea of a book club (which Fury has taken and run with ) gave me the thought to start a wine club where we could write in and recommend (or pan) wines we have had. Not sure how may people are interested in this but I thought I would give it a try.

I'll start first:

Highly recommended:

Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc. Marlborough, New Zealand 2004.

Very nice wine with good crispness. Dry. Moderately long finish. Grapefruit with other tropical fruits and some grassiness. Very good Value at $10-$12 a bottle. Good with cheeses and fish in sauces.

Riesling goes well with anal sex.

It goes well with oral sex too

Hell it just plain goes well.

Yes it does and I love rieslings. I was brought up on them. (my father ws stationed in Germany in the early 50's and I was there as a baby for 2 years. My German nanny used to give my brother and I a little sip every day.

My father studied with a man who married a vintager from the Mosel They make the best Riesling, very fruity, crisp, not very vinegary.

Our regular wine with dinner tends to be a 2003 Mondavi Pinot Noir $16.79 at Sam's $26. at higher end stores.

But my FAVORITE wine is Heitz Grignolino (2000, I think) that we got a couple of bottles of at Spiaggia restaurant in Chicago. It is FANTASTIC but the restaurant price was $60.00 a bottle! It was so not this frugal chicks idea but damn I could drink that stuff all day! We can't seem to get it in our state. I was trying to buy a case of it for a mutual Christmas present. When you buy wholesale by the case the price goes way down.

Uh, no, not really. I won't say never but I will say this is a medium on my list of limits. With the right person I would go there to make him/her happy but do I seek it out? No, in fact I might have some kind of serious scary involved with it for my own personal reasons.
