From what i understand even some people who have windows 2000 also have windows 98se in a dual boot system.
i run windows 98se and even went so far as to buy a win98se disk and download the updates. i will stay with 98se as long as i can. As i was saying me, 2000, and xp have lots and lots of problems and bugs {at least to many for me.} maybe in the future this will change. i have known people to dual boot with with win 95 and win 98se or win 2000. i would suggest starting from scratch. windows 95 is no longer supported by microsoft although most of the download and updates are to be had elsewhere.
windows me seems to be a pain in the ass; at least when i upgraded to it on top of win98se. i unloaded win me and ie 6.0 within two days. i did not like it and my wife threatened to cut me off (both ways) if i did not get rid of them. thank god i had goback
so it was no problem.
if you want MHO me just sucks and win2000 and xp have not been out long enough for fixes to be made or all of the faults to come out so they can be fixed...if they ever are.
I run 2000 and 98se on a dual boot...I use 2000 much more than 98. I had to run a system pack for 2000 as well as a patch, but it's been pretty good. I only really use the 98se for a game that doesn't support 2000. I originally had ME on this system, and I kept it for about a week or ten days...but it was just so buggy...it was so unstable. I've seen XP in stores and such but it just looks way too flashy - bells and whistles with no engine. *shrug* Just my opinion.
