OK, this is a really sad fishing expedition...
I was pondering RL v. online friendships and I was just thinking how odd it is that I can read loads of posts and threads by someone, maybe exchange a couple of PMs and feel like I know them and they're my friend whilst they are aware of me, but don't feel at all the same... it's a very strange situation.

So this is me musing on the oddnesses - are there any things you find odd about forum life?

Also... post a message if you consider me a friend... I worry that I ignore people who feel a friendship with me... at the same time I worry that I pester people who just see me as another newbie :D

so yeah... fishing.........

Happy to. Cannot ever have enough friends.

Uh, by any chance, do you own a pickup truck for when I need to move something? :)

Ilove having frends. Near or far... and Mil, you already know you're on that list

V, you are such a sweet asset to the AH. How could anyone not want to be your friend (or want your shoes)? :)

The Fiance is fixing up an old mini van thing - could probably move some stuff in it :D Not sure the costs would be worth it though, from here to there!

Even better, two friends to help me move! :nana:

Yes

One from the UK.

I had assumed that you were already a friend.

vermilion -you're certainly someone I consider a firen -I hope you get to make the manchester meet :rose:

I thought we were all friends here, despite what we may say to each other on political threads. :rose:

We've only just met, but yes, I see you as a friend because you were here when I made my return from the wilderness...

Chris :rose:

I do feel that you're a friend, Vermilion!

A rather new friend, that I am just getting to know. :)

It occurs to me, that I feel a connection much quicker when posters use a body or face in their av at least once in a while. Does anyone else find that to be true?

And, not to highjack the thread but Ted's new av is adorable.)

On-line "friendships" must deal with very limited sensory input. While sound clips and photos can help, virtually all we know about one another is what we read, which is usually what someone has written about themselves. Even folks who are hard-of-seeing or totally blind (I was among the latter group for about a year) can still use their senses of smell, hearing, even touch to evaluate new people.

If everyone we know is classified as either, friend or foe, then there's no one on the AH, especially the person known as Vermillion, I don't consider a friend.

You are a friend! Now, can we unhook this line please? *G*

<threadjack> Stella, comments like that will have me digging out an old "body" AV... Athough I have the feeling its on my old PC which is in bits in a box...

Then Litogethers generate a lot of incest stories, if that's the case. :D

(coughs) I have nothing to say on that subject.

V, if you're not on my ignore list, you're my friend. I can see your thread, therefore you're not on my ignore list. :)

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Hugs for my wuvely friend}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Does that answer ya question gorgeous? :rose:

Okay, I guess I would say if questioned at gunpoint in a dark alley by a big burly scary guy not unlike boota, that yes, you are my friend. . . but don't tell anyone I said that.;)

I know just what you mean. Due to time and other variables, my number of RL friends has always been minimal, but I seem to have always had simply loads of acquaintances. I tend to hesitate at really even thinking of anyone as being a close/good friend for fear of jinxing things.

The one with the wings? But I like that finger of yours, too.

I think I don't need to see a face all of the time- just at least once.

Or an object; when I had the motorcycle, I thought it looked a lot like me, or (to be honest) a fantasy image of myself.

What are you talking about? Lit togethers involve Tea drinking and intelligent conversation from Flora & Fauna to Quantum Physics and Organic Chemistry.

;)

You don't know me, much, but I like everyone unless they're mean to me and you're the last person I think could be mean.....so yeah, if you'll have me, I'll be your friend too. :)
