Will this terrible tragedy in Cal turn Cal red?

That was 2023. They've reduced that by over 80% and likely will slow even more. Not to mention many will be shuttered once nuclear comes online....they've also built more solar and wind than any country in the world in 2024.

I was going by 2023 statistics. That's a significant shift to renewable energy.
One backspace too many. They still operate 1,161, I believe more than the whole industrial world combined. Nuclear is the way to go IMHO

And that's what they are moving forward with. Elimination of new coal plants by 2030 at the latest. Likely sooner. They are far ahead on their investments than we are.

You mean to tell me that you watch Fox News, you know that the dems are coming for your gas stove, AND you live in the bluey, blue state of Assachusetts, but you YOU were the one to tempt fate and still go gas to thumb your nose at... what?
I shouldn't be forced to make a change that I'm not set up for. The dems in my state are coming after all kinds of stuff.

One positive about Biden is his pushing for nuclear.

There slow but sure making it impossible to own firearms.
OH, THE HORROR!
What is a trumper to do in massachu? You're as in a sad state of affairs as Hisa and James woods are in Cali!

Yes, China is currently considered the largest contributor to global warming, as it emits the most greenhouse gases globally, primarily due to its heavy reliance on coal for energy production; therefore, China is significantly adding to global warming.
I don't believe anyone here has disputed that. Of course, a lot of that energy is going to factories for US companies, which moved there in part because of the more lax environmental regulations (and also the much cheaper labor).
Lowering corporate taxes will have an effect on keeping manufacturing in state.
Lowering corporate taxes could have an effect on keeping manufacturing in state. Or it could lead to the owners simply lining their pockets and still sending jobs overseas. The bottom line is, 1) history shows financial incentives that are ostensibly intended to benefit the working man and woman indirectly, as you're describing here, almost never actually do that, and 2) We could eliminate corporate taxes altogether and it would still probably be cheaper for most companies to keep their factories overseas, especially if they're already there.
Tariffs do have an effect if used strategically.
The key word being "strategically". Donald Trump probably can't even spell that word, never mind act it.
The global warming cultists think they can spend their way into global cooling while China pollutes at a faster rate.
Strawman argument, unless you can point to someone actually saying that. [Insert stock "YDB asks for a cite and the other guy posts a link to someone saying something else entirely" here.]
Common sense is not destroying our economy chasing some dystopian illusion.
You mean like cutting taxes for billionaires and expecting everyone else to benefit from it?
The best way to move forward with Green house gas emission is first to have a complete understanding of the effects of green house gases. Markets and innovation can control needed change a lot more efficiently than shoving some cultist agenda down people's throat.
What makes you think we don't already have that understanding? Oil company propaganda, most likely.
If we clean up our act while a country half way across the planet increases their pollution unchecked that puts us at a great disadvantage and downgrades our own national security.
Well, our business leaders could help that cause by bringing those manufacturing jobs back across the Pacific, accepting that they'll have to comply with reasonable environmental regulations and pay a living wage to their employees for the greater good. But you and I both know that ain't happening.

I don't know where he is in MA, but New Hampshire and/or Vermont are less than an hour away no matter where he is and have far more lax gun control.

LOL.
He ain't takin his ass no where.
He's quite happy talking all his conservative BS while fully taking advantage of the VA system (socialism) there and some of the best healthcare and education this nation has to offer (even more socialism) all while cheering on the Patriots and the revenue sharing NFL.

This fire has nothing to do with anything any one person or party has done, traitor.
Except that stupid environmental horseshit kept one of the reservoirs empty. The fire got out of control when the hydrants no longer had any water.

How do you figure it was environmentalist anything that kept the reservoirs empty? The opposite is more likely.

😑

Right wing scum that LIE about the circumstances that contributed to the extreme damage from the wildfires in LA deserve a karmic ass fuck sans lube or an obligatory Hawk Tuah. (TrailerTrash would undoubtedly welcome an ass fuck of any kind, so in their case a karmic dry ass fuck probably isn’t enough of a deterrent.)

If you're suggesting the lack of money is due to Democrats mismanaging the state, you might want to google Proposition 13.
More like FAIR. One has to wonder if they re-insure or carry their own risk. Going to be interesting to see, but insurance in Cali is turning into a disaster.

I'm not sure if it was the 17 million gallon reservoir that was empty at the beginning of the fire, or a different one, but protecting smelt was an excuse for not refilling at least on reservoir.

That ^ is the closest TrailerTrash will get to ADMITTING THEY LIED.

TrailerTrash DEFINITELY will NOT do the correct / decent thing and APOLOGIZE.

TrailerTrash is a total POS.

I find it hard to believe that you are one either.
Actually, I spent over 40 years as a firefighter and because of that I have knowledge of municipal water distribution systems and hydrants. But to be honest it's much simpler than all of that, if there is no water in the reservoir there will be no water in the hydrants. If more water is being pulled from the system than the pumps that refill the system can overcome, there will be no water in the hydrants. The fact that a 17 million gallon reservoir was dry was absolutely crucial in the fires growth.

Did you even click on Politruk's link? That reservoir was closed for repairs, not due to any environmental policies.
