Will there be a recount?

Wow I recall the difference was approximately 1,300 votes in the American Idol voting. Out of 24 million voters that has got to make the Guinness Book of Records as being the closest voting ever.

Now, if it were politics, I have no doubt there'd be a recount. Wonder if that'll be the case with AI.

If nothing else Florida should have to recount . American Idol is a big deal in our house. My youngest daughter,8, just loves Clay, last week when it was down to Kimberly, Clay and Ruben she was too tired to stay up and watch and wanted me to tell her who was voted off the next day. I thought I would be smart and tease her a little and told her it was Clay, shame on me, I didn't know the reaction I would get. She screamed and started sobbing, I couldn't believe it, I told her I was just kidding and that it was really Kim. She then started laughing and sobbing at the same time. I broke the news to her a lot better this time and softened the blow with "he has a CD coming out in 2 weeks and I promise to get it for you". She said "don't mess with me, really who won"? Poor thing, she loved him so much she had her own little I Love Clay sign she'd hold up when it was on.

I know that I've been out of the mainstream for a long time, so can someone kindly tell me what "American Idol" is.

I have a feeling it must have something to do with TV, and I don't do TV.

It's a pop star program, and yep the progress of competitors has been followed by millions of people in various places throughout the world. God alone knows why it's had such an almighty huge following. I can't figure it out. Maybe because it's light relief and makes a change from the rest of the World Woes of the moment. Maybe because the competitiors were actually run of the mill people for a change.

I find it difficult to believe that it hasn't appeared on other media in the States though...

correction it was revealed that ryan seacrest or whatever his name is misread the vote differential. 130,000 was the count of how much Ruben won by.

wow the guy sure has a problem with zeros. he read it as 13,000 first, then 1,300 and now 130,000? far out.
