Just wait ... it will come out that Putin's great grandmother had an affair with the Tsar and gave birth to his paternal grandfather -- thus establishing him as, what I believe would be the only surviving direct male heir to the throne

Actually, all he needs to do is find a really young heir to the throne and get him crowned. Then he's appointed Regent and he has a 20-30 year reign with a retirment to a huge country house, a dacha in the city, state pension in the millions and enormous opportunities for self-enrichment in the interim.
