Who is at fault?

1. The student - bad decisions
2. Education system - ignorance and greed are running this circus
3. America

Should student debt be forgiven?

Irony, given the thread title.

No Obama won't issue an EO to forgive the debt. Who's at fault?

In order

1. Education system - ignorance and greed are running this circus
2. America
3. The student - bad decisions

The students didn't even by definition make a bad decision so that shouldn't even be on the list.

Ah the ol' "say something ludicrous but phrase it like a question" trick.

Will Obama issue and executive order to "reset" all video game scores?

Furious minds want to know.

What you have for number 2, could also be said of number 3.

What you have for number 2, could also be said of number 3.

The same could be said for number one. If I had a dollar for every idiot I heard bitch about not being able to get a job with their bachelor's in psychology, women's studies, sociology, literature, (insert other liberal art or soft science degree here), I'd be rolling in it.

Perhaps if people stopped taking out student loans to major in subjects that never give a proper ROI, then they wouldn't have the problem.

First you're full of it. second and more importantly one should be able to get a job with those degrees. If one cannot maybe it's time we thought about changing our economy on a massive scale.

Second so far I've never heard anybody deny that Obama only "recently" paid off his student loans, my sister hasn't either. What do they have in common you ask? Graduates of Harvard Law.

Yes I totally agree. If you can't find one job, then accept two until a high paying job is achievable. Also, unemployed person should NOT receive any entitlements.

The U.S. Census Bureau’s most recent American Community Survey shows that only about 26 percent of science grads in the U.S. had jobs in their chosen fields, while nearly 30 percent of physics and chemistry post-docs are unemployed.

.

Maybe it's time for people with meaningless degrees to shut the fuck up and realize there is zero demand for a women"s studies graduate in the job market. A college degree doesn't entitle anyone to a job.

Typical liberal Bizzarro World logic.

Should education only be about ROI?

I mean, clearly that's what it's become, but I don't think that's what we should aspire to.

We live in a world where you can't be a manager at McDonalds without a college degree. Please explain to me how a degree in physics is more relevant than women's studies to figuring out if Patrick or Robert should come in next shift.

YES!

Clearly you lack experience in understanding the value of competition. Remove all funding from education and force higher education to fight for students and money. Just think about how many teaches would be forced to teach and get off sabbatical and end tenure.

Are you drinking?

How and why would someone going to McDonald ever have a degree in Physics? You seem confused. Have you checked your blood pressure lately? Maybe you are having a stroke?

You don't know anything about jobs, do you? It's not the first time your total ignorance of what employment is like has shown itself.

A Bachelor's in literature is not worth it?

So no literature professors.

So America just becomes a giant festering puddle of illiteracy.

Gotcha.

And just what are you an expert in? Clearly you own being a weak man and hold a high self image for yourself here. I'd love to know how that relates to the real world. Thinking your home life is quite soggy.

I'm expert in lots of things. At the moment I do corporate tech support for one of the biggest communications companies on the planet. What do you do, Jen?

Julie (or is it Ken), did we hit a nerve? Proves my point that you are mentally undeveloped.

Tech Support - a growing job market like flipping burgers. Good for you. Stay low as he fall will not hurt.

Side note, there are no big technology companies in Britain. They all left or went out of business.

Julie/Ken, do not obsess over me. Clearly, you are weak and the real question is something you need to address. I'm not your enemy. Nor am I arguing with you, I'm just pointing out how wrong and ignorant you are.

Relax, UK has a big safety net. I'm sure this is why you haven't worked in years. Enjoy, you still have a couple years remaining before UK goes bankrupt.
