It apparently isn't too bad, just a little thobbing ache for 24hrs. Getting them both done at once it a good idea if you can sleepon your back.

Beside my PA; I had one of these; pain is not bad. My problem was it was not heal completely.

Hey, FR...depends on your age and as you said, your tolerance for pain. Since I was waaaay past breast feeding when I had mine pierced, it wasn't so bad. The initial piercing isn't what stung; it was when he pulled out the shaft of the piercing tool! I have had mine for about 3 years, and I love them. They are horizontal. And as someone else mentioned, healing can take awhile My left one took much longer to heal. As in a year. But I love them, my husband loves them, and that's what it's all about!
