Like many men I have fantasized about my wife with another man but it was always just that - an erotic fantasy. However, about a month ago when we were having a fight she said that she thinks about dating because she is bored with me, that when men come into her business and hit on her she sometimes wishes she would just say yes and go out with them (she doesn't wear her wedding ring at work because often has to wear surgical gloves.)
I laughed at her when she said it but then she said it again about a week ago in an argument. After that I actually had two different dreams about her going on a date (not even having sex) and the jealously that I felt was unlike I had ever felt before.
So after the second time she said it I told her that I think she should go out on a couple of dates to which she replied "I'm not going to be a cheater" I told her that it wasn't cheating if I knew about it and gave my blessings, but she still brushed it off.
So of course I've been thinking about it quite often.
I don't know if it was just 23 years of marriage frustration and maybe boredom that made her say those things or if she really does want to date; I'm pretty sure that she has actually thought about it because she has said it twice.
I don't know where we take it from here, she said she wants to and I've told her that she should. I also don't know how I would actually handle it. Would it just be a little fun? I don't want to lose her and I will not divorce her no matter what happens, our family is more important than that.
