Mike had been working in his current position for the last three years working his ass off. Anytime his boss needed a project done - Mike would be the guy to get it done. When his boss, Brad would need to leave early to go have dinner with his wife, Mike would make sure everything was ready for the meeting in the morning.
All of this extra work had reduced his time to meet his friends out. Watch games, hang out or even go on a few dates had been reduced. Mike thought for sure he would be employee that Brad would select for the promotion that would come soon. He had to be the one.
It was another typical day as Brad come over to his desk. Brad needed to leave early to get a birthday present for his wife - Rachel. After that - go home and take her out for dinner and back home to enjoy each other.
