Fashion is easy to condemn because some outfits are quite outlandish, BUT...that is how the arts work.

The best example of this is with new automobile designs. The "concept cars" are far different then the real cars that are placed in production because changes have to be made to accommodate mass production and profit per car.

What you are seeing on runways is, what is possible, not practical.

Its good for designers to be whimsical and even comical as they are not limiting their imaginations.

My wife is not going to be wearing these outfits out on a date granted, but she is not going to be driving a concept car either. Designers and companies know this, and realize it is just part of the long process that it takes to get cars and outfits from ideas in a persons head, to something people drive and wear.
