Why "white working class"?

Doesn't need theories about race applied to it.

You just want to shame/punish whitey because that's PROGRESS!!

Really, you're gonna get into the semantics of what a word means? Of course you are, you're the liar.

I believe there are still some all-white or nearly-all-white unions.

As long as the black person is free to make their own money, so the fuck what??

Historically, the exclusion of blacks from the unions meant they were available, and often used, as scab labor.

Black folks taking jobs from uppity white folks to entitled to do their fuckin' job?

Again, not seeing the problem here other than some entitled white folks getting called on their entitlement.

That is an important fact of American history, that needs to be studied and taught.

Other than it's being part of the fact that racism was institutionalized in the USA until 1964, it's not important at all, has nothing to do with today or the foreseeable future.

Really, you're gonna get into the semantics of what a word means? Of course you are, you're the liar.

No semantics here.

So, union membership matters.

Only to the racist collectivist thugs in the union that don't want to work.

Who thankfully don't have authority over shit and can go fuck themselves as black people take their god damn jobs from their entitled and overly privileged ass's. :D

Why do we speak of a "white" working class as a distinct sector of American society, when there are also many people of other races who live by manual labor?

Your first mistake. The term "white working class" doesn't refer to only those who do manual labor. The term "white working class" is, for the most part, an expression, in the United States, defining the largest racial demographic of people who work for a living, it makes no distinction regarding social class, education, occupation, or earned income.

That does not appear to be how anyone actually uses the term. It's racially exclusive.

Only to those lesser productive people who need a union to stay employed and earn more than they are worth.:D

Are you simply dismissing the whole history of American organized labor? Which was more zealous and more violent -- on both sides -- than in any other country of the time?

Which Side Are You On?

They say in Harlan County
There are no neutrals there.
You'll either be a union man
Or a thug for J. H. Blair.
Which side are you on boys?
Which side are you on?
Which side are you on boys?
Which side are you on?
My dady was a miner,
And I'm a miner's son,
He'll be with you fellow workers
Until this battle's won.
Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?
Oh workers can you stand it?
Oh tell me how you can?
Will you be a lousy scab
Or will you be a man?
Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?
Come all you good workers,
Good news to you I'll tell
Of how the good old union
Has come in here to dwell.
Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?

They had a place earlier in our history. Today they aren't needed to protect worker rights. Almost all state labor laws are sufficient to protect worker's rights. Unions serve solely today as an extortion operation against a free enterprise. They force businesses under their control to reward non or lesser productivity the same as more productive employees based on longevity, not performance. Collective bargaining kills the incentive to produce and encourages mediocrity in the business environment. There's a reason why only a hair over 6% of the private labor market is unionized.

Weird....all these Republicans wanting to go back in time....to when Unions were a much larger force. Which is it? Make up your bipolar mind

We aren't bipolar, the "wanting to go back in time" is just bullshit in your head, you made up and or bought into because you can't actually argue against the things they are actually supporting.

Told you before. I don't want to hear shit from the ruptured mind of that sawed-off little Marxist that pretends to be credentialed authority on anything except the travails of always having to look up at people and possibly its associate neck pain.

Robert Reich is a lot smarter than you.

Robert Reich is a lot smarter than you.

Can't be true, He admires Marx, he's a woke academician, and he's a Democrat.

That's three levels of intellectual waste, fraud, and sloth right there that aren't ever going to stunt my earning potential in the private sector or lower my social standing among Americans.

All woke academicians are smarter than you. So are most Democrats, and not a few Marxists.

I get you FEEL that way, but it's not.

That's why all you can do is call me a racist

I actually call you a liar much more often though you are all of the above and probably a few I don't know about you yet.

But hey Covid is caused by space aliens in your world correct?
