Man Posts Sexy Personal Ads In Ex-Wife's Name, Gets Jailed

An Arizona man who placed sexually explicit personal ads on the Internet, but attributed them to his ex-wife, has been handed a year in jail for that and other computer-related crimes.

The office of Arizona Attorney General Janet Napolitano said this week that a Glendale man was sentenced in Maricopa County Superior Court to jail time plus 10 years' probation following two separate incidents involving faked identity.

Bill Montana (also known as William Wittbrot) was found to have assumed his then-estranged wife's identity in order to harass her, including posting personal ads on the Internet which bore her contact information.

What's next - they'll make it against the law to sign your least favorite male high school teacher up for a subscription to Playgirl? :)

If it was his own info that is one thing.

Precisely. But he wasn't posting as himself, giving out her info. He posted as HER, giving out HER OWN info.

If you, right now, made a post saying, "My real name is BlahBLah, my phone number is 867-5309," how does anyone know whether it's you posting your own info or, as in the case above, someone else posing as you posting your info?

Well Laurelita

That's the point, Siren. Since it's so easy to exploit the resource to harass... it's simply not allowed.

Yay for the anonymity of the internet.

And yay for 80's music references.

And yay for Laurel's hotpants.

For a good time.........

Probably not many.

I do feel sorry for the people who have that number in each area code -- I'll bet they do get a lot of prank calls asking for Jennie.
