The guy has about as much media savvy as Richard Nixon. Why have a press conference when all you can say is dopey shit like...

"We are continuring to work on dat"

"Dose things are some evidence dat we would radder not comment upon."

"Sir, if you think you can do my job bedder dan me, den you solve deh crimes and I'll report deh news, ok?"

"Every day widdout viorlence is a good day. Beyond dat I'd radder not comment."


It's funny to watch the reporters make him squirm. Somebody please make him shut up.

Kinda like a pressidential Press secretary.

He probably would if he could, but the press doesn't always allow people to delegate. I think that public speaking can be important, but not a necessity in policework.

I can't figure him out. I am not sure that the man isn't affecting a bit of the Sherrif Andy Taylor personna as an act.The man is not as unlettered as he sounds. He does have a PHD in Urban Affairs. I have seen one on one interviews with him where he is much more articulate. Maybe he just freezes in front of a large group of reporters and cameras.

I know he can't be as dumb as he sometimes sounds...afterall, he was police chief of Portland, OR...a fairly large city. I'm sure he's a good chief and a smart guy.

It just drives me crazy the way he allows the press to get his panties all bunched up. Did he actually not expect to get asked some really fucking stupid questions by the media?
