I say Democrat since surveys continually demonstrate that big city papers and the national television media are dominated by employees who are registered Democrats. I know that some of you will counter with, “The owners are evil, money-grubbing Republicans, and the dollar determines the reporting,” and that, to me, is a ludicrous argument in that I view the situation as thus; a state department employee looks at the current administration as a temporary player with a bit part and so too does the reporter view the owner. The press is corrupt because it is dominated by a class of men and women whom do not wield power gracefully.
And this is how the corruption begins, as the pen calls out to its victims, “There is power in me!”
“The saddest thing is that Judge Posner's market determinism leaves no room for the other dynamics I've witnessed in my 35 years in newspapers: the idealism of reporters who think they can make the world better...”
Bill Keller, Executive Editor, NY Times
How many times have I pointed this out? The reporters not only shape the stories to fit their world purview, but they have a lemming-like mentality dominated by partisanship.
