Been away for a few days to find this forum as stale as old bread. Post a poem, or an idea, or a question, or a quiz, or trivia. Nothing wrong with starting a thread with the title of your poem and posting here for praise or execution. We asked for a poetry forum so lets use it.

braintstorming here for the 3rd event in the poetry olympics,
plus i haven't been feeling well since late thursday nite (am
getting better though).....

Funerals

have a way of sucking out the creativity. I spoke yesterday.

I do wish folks would take a stab at the trivia. What happened to supporting what's here?

Hopefully the dry spell won't last long.

Peace,

daughter

5 tests next Friday and a 5 to 7 minute long speech Monday and I'm still trying to finish writing a Valentine's day thread. So multitasking is down to writing and studying with minimal board surfage for relaxation. You know, it's a good thing that I adore taking tests.

My happy lil' under-contributing ass will be back in it's full under-contributing style next week some time.

two contests, one poetry, one story....three works of art in progress, a 10 month old and my sanity. I still haven't done the freakin' villanelle yet and now there is a ballad to do as well. I'm wicked swamped. Waaaaaaaaaaaah!!!

sorry will do better soon,

No new Bootcamp yet?

Sounds like everyone's been either sick or busy or both. How's it going now? We're halfway through a fourth week of Bootcamps and only three posted. Maybe a new assignment a week is too much?

I was thinking of posting a Fourth Week Bootcamp on Double Dactyls, but I want to hold off until everyone's feeling a little less "loaded."

Whaddya think? Next week (the last week of February 2002) or the next (the first week of March 2002?).

(Oh, I think I need Drill Sergeant approval or something, right? How about it KM or RW?)

;)

PS - By the way, this is my 400th post (Whoo-hoo!) (Although nothing compared to the 25 times more that KM has - Jesus! I'll be a hundred and six before I get there.)

I can tell you why, JUDO

JUDO.....hiya!
I may not be a drill sargeant, but I can tell you this....the Poetry Olympics
3rd event is going on.......which is probably taking away from the other
threads and poetry activities happening on this board. I think you'd better
wait until after the Poetry Games are over with completely before you post
up a new bootcamp activity. I know people have been busy lately, and
some have come down with illness (its that time of year!). I myself haven't
even particpated in bootcamp simply because I dont' have the time and
commitment. I say wait until March, and things start to slow down around
here.......

There are those that lead and those that follow. To me, it seems our leaders have all dipped out on us! Guess it's our fault though, we have become way to dependent on them to lead us in the way of righteous poetry!

That is why I took the initiative to start my own threads. I figured if they went bust at least I tried! To my delight, you guys are really participating! I am still missing our leaders who seem to be MIA at the moment. But troops, we will survive! :D

Well, I hardly consider myself a leader in these parts....

Indeed, I figure adding to a thread, keeping it going, is often just as vital as starting a new one, but, seeing as folks ~ myself included ~ are rather busy, I suppose it won't hurt to take a moment out from early american english survey to start up a new thread. Seeing as I was thrilled to discover the forum had been opened in the first place...

Ok, yes, I am rambling...
