why shouldn't they legalize them?

because the damn government would only tax them...imagine the issue of trying to figure the tax rate on an "around the world".

Pardon my ignorance but what's an 'around the world'?

Pot?

Because big chemical and manufacturing plants would go out of business!

Imagine! Clean burning non-fossil fuel. Unlimited paper without the need to cut down trees. An alternative to cotton. Too many people stand to lose money.

Yup, yup.
I just want to be a part of Todd's non-religious threads.

I have no problem with legalizing pot and pot growing, mushrooms.
I’m not quite certain what you mean by ‘properly cooked’ cocaine but I’m guessing I’d have no problem with that either.

Prostitution though? That’s a tough one, I don’t think it should be illegal but… I think it’s exploitive and dehumanizing in a way that no other job is.

Because the government makes hundreds of millions fighting drugs, in seisures of drug related money and goods and then auctioning it off. It also employs hundreds of thousands of Americans from DEA agents, to Sheriffs, to that dopey kid who poses on the home drug testing kit box.

Get Lost Todd!

Yer Being Silly.

It SHOULD Be Done, I Could Care Less If The Government Gets A Hold On How.

Todd Have You Ever Smoked A Dube?

LOL

Don't Tie All That Other Shit In...Sides If Potheads HAd Their Choice Of Buying It Legally Or Buying From The Kid Down The Road That HAS Cokehead Clients Too, Then They'll Just Pick Em Up At The Corner Store!

Don't quite understand the Cocaine one, but the rest I'm all for legalizing. Right now (at least near me) it's easier to get pot, shrooms, and a hooker than it is to get a case of beer or cigarettes if you're under age. Legalize it, standardize it.. . it'd be safer and cleaner quickly...

Pot - We will be voting on it this election day

Prostitution - Although no legal in this county, it is legal in the rest of the state.

I say legalize it pot, mushrooms and cocaine. Then tax it high, and use those revenues, plus the savings on investigation, arrest, prosecution, incarceration, along with the savings of taking care of victims of drug wars, to retrain all the drug agents and fund programs for things that really matter. Spend it on good low cost day care (and pay the people well for it, instead of making it a entry level job), substance abuse programs, assisting the elderly to live more normal lives at home, fund Medicare Drug benefits.. etc. Prostitution is a little different. But even that when legalized makes it a better solution than the system we presently have, especially if well regulated, with mandatory health checks and getting the pimps out of the equation is a more sensible system to me.
