A lot of people write comedy. But to write comedy on eBay takes real talent!

When I have children among my guests and it's breakfast time, I make pancakes sometimes. I do one panful of pancake squiggles, letters of the alphabet, animals.

Then the kids do the rest until it's gone. Smilies are easy. And a lot of fun.

Pancakes are best plain, with the toppings carrying the burden of added flavor. I still add a whisker of mace to the batter. It gives a lovely aroma.

The same in muffins. Plain muffins, BUT I fill the cups with a quarter-inch of melted butter and I put a skoash of mace in the batter. They have a crispy fried coat to the base of them, they come free of the pans with no backtalk, and they taste as though they were already buttered.
