Any theories of why the Irish are so conspicously absent as posters?

My Grandma is from Ireland. I don't think she'd post here, though. She can't even figure out how to turn on the computer.

You mean those that live in Ireland... or those of us of Irish descent???

Those that live in Ireland. I didn't realize they have fewer that 4 million people. That's probably why.

Was reading up on my family history on my father's side and learned we came from Northern Ireland in the 1700s.

Wrong....I'm a kiwi of irish descent(sp).
Both my parents emmigrated from Nth Ireland when they were very young, just after WW2. Dad was from Dublin and Mums from Belfast.

A population of 4 million is not a reason for having no Irish posters....NZ has a population of 3.7 million and theres quite a few kiwis on the boards.

I could get her to post here..but then she'd see what her baby-boy gets up to and i'd have to go to confession-again.
Yup...I'm a non-praticing catholic.

Proudly waving the Orange/Green and the Silver Fern.

Too drunk to find the 'Post Reply' button?

Tuirin was Irish, but it was a rare day when you could actually comprehend his posts.

Maybe the Bloody Brits went over and confiscated all their computers and we just don't know it yet.

I'm 1/2 Irish, although I realize you mean acutal people in Ireland.

Like PC said...Tuirin, a poster who used to post here lives in Ireland, although I haven't seen him in quite awhile. I believe there was another as well, but I can't remember.

WTF How can you say that.?

Be Proud of your Irish Heritage
Dont hide behind the "British" tag..!

Hiding? Dear God man I am Proud to be British. In this country we do not HIDE behind tags. Here we fight for what we believe in, I am British I carry a British passport and I pay taxes to Britain.

Blimey, Draco, where have you been for the last century?

Smiley

You contradict yourself..

"I was born in Northern Ireland" so you cant be British.
You weren't born in Britian.

You carry a British Passport. If it was issued in Nth Ireland..its an Irish passport.

If you were born in Scotland -you're scotch right?
If your born in Wales-you're Welsh right?
If you are born in England-you're English right?

So you were born in Nth Ireland.your Irish
Now stand up and BE PROUD of that fact.

Defending my Irish heritage..thats where
and it irks me that more dont do the same.

Look Draco, the Republic of Ireland issues Irish passports. Britain has on the front 'United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland'.

I am regionaly Irish, but I am British. I am also a member of the Europian Union.

And those born in Scotland are Scottish, not Scotch - thats a drink

There is NOTHING wrong with being a drink.

And before I was from the goblin castle I was proudly from the land of OZ, so I agree with Draco. (Just dont tell him I'm taking his woman)

Astro..i can see that we will never agree...so lets part as friends
anyhow. I wont argue with you anymore..theres far too much of that at LIT. IMO..you are and will always be Irish.
End of Dracos rant.

Cheffie...you turn-coat bitch.
First you want me, then my woman....
Cant have us both.

I am proud to be from Ulster (northern 9 counties) I am defending my British heritage as well.
