Why is violence bad?

Seriously, this has me confused. I don't understand why violence is condemned so much when every single human being in existence does it on such a regular basis.

Isn't that just a little bit hypocritical?

Personally........I love it.....second only to the sound of a slug contacting human flesh.

3rd would be the sound of vertabre cracking.......

I would say it depends on the nature of the violence, and the circumstances.

Hmmm...Why is violence bad?.....

Another interesting question today. Let's see. Is violence bad? Not always. Sometimes we have no choice but to utilize violence to neutralize evil. Good(?) example might be what is going on in Afghanistan right now. We have chosen to apply massive violent means to remove an evil regime and organization that has adopted violence as a way of life and possibly a perverted form of religion. Is that hypocriticle? I don't think so. Unfortunate? Regretable? YES!

Deep down we all have a violent side and most of us understand if we allowed the violent side to go unchecked our world would be in a total state of chaos.

Maybe, one day, we will be able to just sit down and work through our differences without resorting to killing one another when we don't get our way. I hope it's soon. It's hard to reconcile sending 2,000 pound bombs at the caves at Tora Bora when you know the terrorist's children are playing outside the mouths of the caves. I don't envy the military commanders who have to make that kind of decision. And if you think that doesn't burn us deep inside our souls, you're very mistaken.

Until then, we still have to drag out the swords and shields periodically to restore and maintain some sense of order.

Phantom.

Not always bad.

Bad=malicious use of physical force to serve your own selfish end or to work out some problem or set of problems on someone unconnected and innocent of involvement in that issue.

Good= cutting a rapists dick off with the bowie knike you keep in you long boots just before he has his little jolies with you. Shooting child molestors before they victemize another child.
Shooting down Santa's sliegh after the raindeer make a mess on the roof.

ying yang kind of thang

Simply speaking, violence is bad.....

because it begets more violence. Unfortunately, mankind has never, to this day, found a better way to deal with it's problems.

Social conditioning tells us that violence is bad, even though since the dawn of time the norm has been that the strongest would prevail. Maybe todays attitudes are the weaker majoritys way of protecting itself against the stronger minority... just a thought.

The people that were comfortable with violence always had a reason. Hitler said it was inevitable. The cost of doing business. Stalin said it was simply History. I wonder what they had in common besides a love of Westerns?
