it's history, it's origin, the worth, the value, the stature - of it's creators - and the specific, detail of it's meaning - boldly found in the actual words - is so closed to alternate interpretation?????

Read the words - check your dictionary - check each and every word - one by one and you'll see. The words are really simple - "Gongress shall make no law," etc., - so..........

Why do people even attempt to debate it's meaning? Why?

I don't see how they can actually - not logically anyway. They can't.

Sure, I can see, I can understand that - "they want to debate it" - want to debate it regardless of it's clarity in meaning. Why? It's simple - they just don't like it. They don't like what they hear from somebody. So they debate it - I happen to think that no matter who may be debating it (and I've actually seen hundreds of folks and many view points on this) - they come off foolish.

So, regardless of all those things - the history, the men who wrote it, the clear detail etc., they still want if changed........

To suit them. To suit their people - their cause.

But you see - our forefathers wrote this document for this very reason - the 1st Amendment was created as a sort of "rev limiter," a governor, a filter......

It filter's out "selfish assholes," it attempts to filter out biggotry and prejudice - some might like to use the word tyrant - (as I do) - the 1st Amendment is a "tyrant eliminator."

So even though some folks have some difficulties with "it's inherent allowances," (which I like to call freedoms) - (which is human and understandable) - "the good it does" - "the good it was designed to do, without alteration or failure" is by far and away - "worth those rather meaningless difficulties."

Because if somebody ever, ever (some how) successfully alters our 1st Amendment - then they will have successfully opened the gate to tyranny.

And I for one - don't want that to ever happen.

So, I actually consider anyone who desires to alter our 1st Amendment - a traitor - a non-American - a biggot - an asshole.

I agree

After all, it is just one country among so many. Why the fuss?
