Why is there no "I climaxed" stat?

Don't get me wrong, I think the hit count and voting statistics are useful feedback on stories.

However, there must be others who have brought up that an even more useful stat would come from a simple radio check box that would be checked if an individual came while reading your story. I know this would be imperfect, but suspect it would give you a lower bound. It would, I also know, be far less impressive than the read count stats.

Hit count is nice, but I think categorization has a big influence on this, and, if 30,000 clicked into your story but were lukewarm on it, to me that might not be better than 3,000 who were really into it.

Voting stats are nice, too, but my personal strategy is that if I don't have an idea readers will love, I try to write a story readers will viscerally hate. What I don't want to waste anyone's time on is a story everyone is indifferent about.

Finding out that at least three readers climaxed in response to my story would be much more satisfying than knowing 26,000 hit on it.

I'm intersting in hearing the views of others on this.

I always thought having a catagory for pure, one hand reads, aimed towards multiple O's, would be cool. In that catagory, what you're talking about would work. On the whole though, not all stories are written just to get people off. I've seen a lot of stories that strive to be...well, good stories.

Interesting idea though. Only problem is how many people would actually click on it?

Well, judging from some of the more ... um ... interesting PMs I've gotten, maybe more than you might think.

Maybe they could place another set of stars below the ones they have now.

Limp, Semi Hard, Hard, Rock Hard, Explosion!

Maybe not.

What if you got all worked up on one two page story then blew your wad on the first page of another two page story? Who gets the rating if it's a team effort?

That's the difference between a 4 and a 5. :D

Of course, another issue is that someone might read and enjoy the story ("enjoy" being used here in the standard sense and not as subtle innuendo), then use the fantasy it describes to self-gratify days later. No one is going to go back to check the box after the fact.

As no one wants to have masturbatory auditors... OK "no one" might be too strong... I think this idea is doomed, but I just thought someone might have a novel solution.

I agree with the good little witch. I don't get many PM's, and few of the PC's mention it, but I do get emails from men and women and even couples telling me they have gotten off on one of my stories. This is the most gratifying kind of feedback there is, at least to me. :)
