the Right Wing a bunch of boring old farts?

Answers please on the back of a postage stamp...

:D

The Right might be a happier bunch of guys if they didn't have to deal with the bs of the Left.

Actually, rich people are usually very happy. That whole "money doesn't make you happy" thing? Bullshit.

Yeah that "we were poor but we were happy" bullshit is just a bunch of right wing propaganda to keep the happy go lucky joyful left-wingers down.

But once the revolution comes brothers, they'll be the first against the wall!

It may not fit on the back of a postage stamp, but here it is:

Right Wingers are conservative folk. Brought up in religious households, they never thought to experiment with the world around them (e. g. my ex-fiancee). Left Wingers, on the other hand, struck out into the world and enjoyed the life they led.

Me? I'm riding the bird's head. I'm a registered Republican (traditionally RW conservative), but I can agree with the views of the Left.

Nothing will change Peeps, two weeks after your revolution the rich will be rich again, and the poor will be driving Cadillacs, rejoicing in their "fortune"!!

You're reminding me of HHGTG again: The (late) Robotics Correspondent of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy defines The Sirius Cybernetics Corporation as;
"a bunch of mindless jerks who will be the first against the wall when the revolution comes".

There seems to be pretty good evidence p_p man that many young people find politics itself to be a boring fart of a subject.

You and I, as boring old conservatives in our desire to keep political debate alive, may well be boring old farts in their eyes.

Teaching political awareness now in primary schools - did you hear that? I hear a death knell.

Who says left = poor?

I know plenty of poor conservatives. I know plenty of wealthy progressives.

Probably. But think of the satisfaction of having a revolution and shaking the country out of complacency. Even temporarily.

Just for the hell of it...

Oh gawd!

A perfectly good thread ruined by common sense...

if you are happy and you know it clap your hands *clap* *clap* :D

:D I second that motion. *clap clap*

Right-wingers have their heads buried too far in the sand (was going to say up their asses but somehow refrained) to see that things need to change. They may "identify" with left-wingers (which is a start, I'll admit), but that's just not quite enough, I'm afraid.

Hey, it's easy to be happy when you don't have to worry about facts and reality. It's kind of like being a writer of childrens' books. :)

You can't want change if you're not aware of the facts and reality of a situation.

I might add that it's also easy to be happy when you ignore the impact of your decisions on society, on the environment, on the world. Bush is a shining example, although I'm not too sure how happy he is. Maybe he should stop smirking like that.

Is that why Al Gore sighs so much?

Not always true. :)

I am one of those exceptions - done a lot of things, had a few adventures. I was brought up in a religious household, though, but have experimented as much as I care to.

What I have, I have through very careful examination of the world and people around me, and how they act with each other and with the world around them.

That's how I got where I am.

I'm impressed, JMJ... Now if you'd only join us on the Other Side... <rubs her hands together conspiratorially> ;)

The left is a happy group because they like to spend other peoples money on failed social programs, This makes them "feel" good because they "tried" to help the victims of society. Yes sir! 38 eight years of spending billions on failed social programs and we still have poor people. Why is that? I was raised in a union household, I do not have strong religious leanings I believe in personal responsibility. What a concept.Maturing changes many of our opinions and in some cases our politics. I recall voting for Jimmy Carter:rolleyes: After that clown, I swore I would never vote democrat again.

I'd love to, but....

....well there are a lot of reasons I never could. ;)

Like I've said before, I'm neither a Democrat nor Republican, politically. I'm a Libertarian. My core belief about this country is that there is far, far too much government and that it needs to stay as far out of everyone's lives as possible so we can get about our own business. :)

And on that note. Did you hear that we've created yet another Government group in the US, and put 3.7 billion dollars behind it? I heard about it last week. It's an agency that will oversee the overhaul of the voting system, mainly purchasing, installing, and overseeing new voting machines around the country.

We needed another government office. Really we did. Honest. The FEC wasn't capable of handling something that was already quarely in their purview. :)

Feh. I'm going to start my own country. ;)

You want to buy an island?
I will go in on that with you. Costa Rica sells some of the islands off its coast sometimes.
