I know alot of people read my last thread, and thanks very much to the 3 woman that replied.
But why is it that most people dont want to know about people like me, yeah Im disabled, yeah my body is useless, but I have a heart, have a brain, am caring, loving, funny, yeah can have sex etc............
So why is it that most people shy away from people like me. You cant even reply, because your to scared. I am like you, have your needs and wants, the only difference is that I cant walk.

So give me some reasons why?

i read your last post, i didnt respond because your in australia, otherwise, i would def have responded and talked to you... i dont believe people mean to treat you as second class, rather, they dont know what to say, what is apporpriate, what is not. i am actually very happy you posted, its way hot to think of just how all of us are alike, and therefore we should not discriminate, i wish you luck with finding a woman to fulfill your desires....

most ppl shy away from the unknown and those of us that are disabled scare them cause we are of the unkown. we have to deal with problems that they can not fathom to understand the lack of. it is that most ppl are just uneducated on the subject and other are just jerks to put it nicely. most ppl dont want to get to know a person past the outer physical appearance. but hey i have been dealin with that for nearly 20 years now and in my experience those that dont want to take the time to get to know us for the person inside dont need ta know us at all

You got a spot here darlin! I think you're justified in asking indeed and as we all say that the appearance of the situation scares alot of folks away. They are scared! Not knowing how to handle it...You ought to hear the 'silence' when I tell people I am [too] disabled....
It's not as bad for me as you are sweetie- And unfortunately I live so far... I would go and see what kind of needs you do have  ...I sure hope you find someone sweetie...
Keep posting-someone will see you..{wink}I'll keep bumping you too....:)

Scowine,

I had polio in 1956, it affected my right leg and I have always had a limp, cant run for crud and get tired real easy. About 6 years ago postpolio kicked in and I now use a sccoter to go any distances. Yes I can still walk but not far. I found once I started using the scooter people treated me differently than when I walked all of the time.

It pissed me off at first but I know realize that because I appear differently than most people they do not know what to say or do. So I have learned to be myself and if people like me, great, if not then it is their loss.
