Why is it taking so long for my story to be published?

Why is it taking so long for my story to be published? I've reached out to support on three separate occasions, and I have received no response. It's been eight days since I submitted my story yet it seems like everyone else's stories are getting published except for mine.

Do you have other stories up, or is this your first?

What is the general subject matter? Are there pictures, illustrations, or other non-standard content?

I’ve written and published three other stories on this site. None of them took this long. Now, it’s been 10 days and it’s still not published. I even resubmitted the story. There’s no pictures, no illustrations, just words. It’s not really that long either. Like, seriously, what is taking so damn long?

That will always cause extra delay as it throws it back to the end of the line.

Really, ten days isn't all that long.
It’s fine. The second submission that I did was slightly different than the first, like the title and the category it was to go in. Somehow the second submission got published before the first so I just deleted the first submission.

This is a bit mind boggling to me, in the internet age. I don't expect instant - but I don't understand what takes more than a few days. Is it just the volume? That's solvable.

There is just ONE person, checking all submissions and posting the work. Something like 200+ stories a day. If you have a better way to do this, I'm sure Laurel would love to hear your ideas.

I waited nearly a month last December. Get over it and be happy to have a place to post your work. Patience Grasshopper.

I guess I'm not sure why it has to be only one person. Many forums and journals have multiple moderators and editors.

I can wait - I'm just trying to understand. With the size of this site and community, only having one editor who has to review every entry seems unsustainable.

Which is impressive. I just don't understand the why. Why make it harder on themselves. :/

Anyway - I'm new here. I'll shut up. Just trying to understand.
