to tear strips off of men?

"Boys are stupid. Throw rocks at them." says the T-shirt. If the 'Boys' was replaced by any other gender, ethnic grouping or social construct, the wearer would rightly be lashed verbally for being a bigot.

I've got a friend, whom I love dearly, but she will automatically say things that group all men in with the knuckle dragging neanderthals. If I said all women were castrating bitches who simply regarded men as a sort of credit card, she would, rightly, rip me to shreds verbally.

It really picks my ass.

Why is it OK to be prejudiced about men?

OK, rant over. Threadjack away.

answer:
its not.
sometimes, though, its easy to say something outrageous that others blink and wonder what the hell you were thinking. i think it mostly boils down to shock value.

for the times that it bothers you, i offer my appology in advance. i tend to say alot of thoughtless things but never intend to direct them towards anyone in specific...mostly.

I suck at sports....but I still love you even though you are a boy.

I'm not sure if I can forgive you for making vella say nice things.

It a burden I'm sure I'll learn to live with.

I apologize for the thoughtless actions of my gender, Rob. :rose:

I bitch about he-who-shall-remain-namelss quite often, but I'm also aware that there are some wonderful men in the world - quite a few of them in this very forum. :)

It goes back to kindergarden when you had 'cooties' and acted tuff, but it is usually the bullies throwing the rocks and the kid with the glasses getting hit. It goes back to cavemen days, throwing rocks to catch dinner..
Girls get their hair pulled in the same way.
It all works out in the end when the thrower of rocks winds up pumping the throwee's mercedes full of gas.
picks my ass?

This is a bit like the 'Why does a dog lick it's balls?' question.

I'm not sure Femmes are any more anti-Male, but they sure are more vocal and visual in registering their dislikes (and likes). Listening to my daughters tales of Close Encounters with Pub Males I can respect and understand her occassional dis-like (gust / tance) with the appendaged member of the species. As an example, a guy chatting her up in the pub at the weekend on being told she was studying for a Masters degree told her how nice it was to meet a girl who was not a Beauty Therapist. This is not a good chat up line Guys!

Then there is the entire species of curb crawling Males and the very real fear this can engender. She recently described being 'addressed' by two guys who had forearms like tree trunks and how she genuinely felt in fear of being hauled into their car. Jesus - it was 9.00pm at night, in a residential suburb, why should she be made so fearful?

The answer is the same 'Because they can' - doesn't matter if it's women sounding off on men, men scaring women just by their presence, or dogs licking their balls.

They might ALL be here, even. ;)

:rose: for Rob.

It' s not ok, but sometimes the frustration gets the better of us and we generalize based on recent events.

BTW, women ARE bitches!

Rgraham, when I first saw that shirt, my thought was, not that it was down on boys- but- it was saying "Don't be a little princess, girlie, voice yourself"
My 16 year old daughter was offended by it.
I've decided she is right- as she so often is- and there's gotta be a better way to get that message across.

It bothers me too.. but I recognize the fact that a large percentage of our gender ARE assholes. Now, I'm not saying they can't be nice guys from time to time also.. but I've seen far too many guys act like jerks.

I've also seen a lot of guys generalize all women into the bitch category, and most of the time I just ignore it. However, if it is a friend that says it, I tend to remind them that our gender isn't exactly perfect either.. or some other retort/defensive comment..

Unfortunately, we women have a tendency to put all men in the same group when we've been hurt by one. We simply forget to voice it as loud when we encounter good men.

Maybe I'll make it my next calling in life....say it loud, say it low...BUT...just say it.

Thanks heaven for wonderful men.

Guys are stupid heads! (I poke sticks at them)
keeps me from being gay.

poink! (with me pointy stick)

*sounds gay , don't it?

I say that boys are stupid. But, that's refering to the ones I know. :)
I can't speak for the ones that live in another state. :D

I'll try and remember to say, "Most boys are dumb" or "All the boys I know are stupid." :)

 I love ya RG.

Women are bitches. :) But really, they just have their bitchy streaks. Same with boys and their stupidity.

On the other hand my mom almost bought us shirts that said:
"If you think I'm a bitch, wait til you meet my daughter."
"If you think I'm a bitch, wait til you meet my mom."

:D I wish she would have. That woulda been festive. :p

Some guys don't feel anything unless you're tearing strips. They LIKE you tearing strips. It gets their attention. It makes 'em wanna spank you.

Guys are fun! Throw rocks at them!

I may rip on certain types of behavior, but I certainly don't rip on all guys.

I will say here and unequivocally that I love men. I would have absolutely no fun if I were not able to throw rocks at them.

For most of the guys I know though, if you throw a rock at them, you're going to die horribly in a crushing accident involving a rock about the size of the one that chased Indiana Jones.

I'm only a girl, what do I know?

Poke 'em with a pointy stick, then.
poink!
and see if they don't poke you back.

We have the money, power, physical strength, social status, no periods, and NO labor pains.

They're allowed to clump us because it works to our benefit... relieves 'some' of the pressure that might cause a revolt.

Sort of like how rich people throw pennies at charities for the poor.

Sincerely,
ElSol

That T-shirt might also be in response to the "No Fat Chicks" fad. Gosh, that was fun, let's bring that back. Nobody forced a guy to wear this shirt or use it as a bumper sticker, it was a badge of pride.
