Why have I lost votes?

Hi,
I have noticed that my votes on many of my poems and stories have been reduced by one vote. Why is this? Has someone voted twice. I have asked before if you could vote on your own work and was told people do. I know that I have not voted twice on anything. Only curious thats all. Its not the end of the world.

Poems and stories are regularly swept for anomalous votes. They may be multiple votes from the same user or from the same IP, votes from users or IPs with suspicious voting patters, or a number of other reasons.

Before I knew what the voting was I would comment then vote and some times I think I voted and forgot I had and voted again, incase I didn't after reading 30 poems a day + it can get crazy. I now vote first off AND THEN COMMENT a routine that does not double vote <grin...

but as Laren said they do a sweep now and again to delete double votes or even pattern low voters. I am not an expert or know how it works but it is in the best intrest of being fair. Some times the votes may drop by one and the rating go up...on most occasions.
