The Health and Beauty section of my local discount store is loaded with deodorants and antiperspirants marketed towards women. Most of the packaging is white, light blue or other pastels with gilt or white script lettering. The scents all have names like "Ocean Breeze", "Powder Fresh", "Cool Wind", "Shower Soft"... They all seem to be geared towards water, wind, clean, etc., and fairly innocuous. Your fourteen year old daughter could use it and you wouldn't cringe at the thought.
However, one antiperspirant stood out from this sea of insipidness. The bottle was acidic green with black lettering. The scent was "Sweet Surrender". It seemed blatantly sexual to me, almost BDSM, especially when compared to all the "Baby Soft" scents. Am I just sensitized to sex and seeing it everywhere?
I would have thought that "Sweet Surrender" would have a musky or spicy scent. Why does it smell like Fancy Fruit Life Savers?
