Because media keeps calling him that. You'd be surprised, but call a man evil enough times on TV - and even saint will get lynched by an angry mob who knows for definite that he's bad.

Because he stopped "The First Female President" from getting the job. You can't imagine how much grief was generated just from that alone.
Because he basically says "Fuck morals and ideology, it's time for USA to start making money instead of only spending them". Obviously fucking morals and ideology for any reasons is bad.
Because he's a rich person - a jerk by default.
Because there's a lot of great and juicy black PR about him.
Because he dares to have a model for a wife, so clearly sexist.
Because all of the above is more important than what he might do or achieve. People don't want to see results of his work - they just want to see him fail so they can justify themselves for being right all along, at this point.
The good thing? It doesn't really matter - all of it. He will do what he needs and what he wants. The petty outrage is not a hindrance at this point.
Sure, he may not win any elections next time. Then again, this would depend on the results of his term.
