I've always known I've had bisexual tendencies. At this age, with my wife's decision to retire from sex, my bisexual side has come out in full force. There are lots of men in the same situation however being able to meet discreetly is the biggest challenge.

I am surprised that more men do not take advantage of their bi side. It seems that a lot of older women have given up on sex. I can not see that it makes a lot of difference if that warm mouth working on your cock is a man or a woman. Getting back to the original question. I think one possibilty for why older guys tend to be more open to their bisexuality now, is that there is a lot less stigma attached these days. My first sexual encounter with another male was back in the 60’s. There was a HUGE bias against those activities back then. Being open about it, or even accepting the concept, was nearly unthinkable in those days. Still some stigma attached by many people now, but a lot more acceptance as well. I think you are right. I think I always had the desire to suck a cock but was afraid to do so and the stigma was part of it. At my age now, I am not going to worry about what someone else thinks.

Myself I see five aspects of life diverging, regarding why so many men are bi-curious.
With age you have more sexual experiences and know what you like (1). Typically this is experienced through hetrosexual marriage over many years, but as the wife loses interest in sex, and the man maintains the same libido, there is a supply and demand differential (2). Couple that with older people who tend to have less regard for what people think (3), along with a general curiosity for new types of sex (4), and from all those four things combined, long held beliefs are broken down.

The only difference is no pregnancy, which is a huge plus, and no chance that you're taking care of a baby that's not yours.
