I beg to differ regarding the story/sex thing. I think that in some genres it matters about the story/sex ratio. In others, it matters less. In incest, you probably want more sex and maybe a little background. In something like 'Romance' it won't affect scores so much because obviously if you're looking in that category you're looking for something more akin to love story with sex.

Take for example brightlyiburn and bad_girl23. In 'To Tempt the Devil' there was no sex until right near the end and even so it wasn't in great detail. It was top of the ratings for a while and now it's somewhere in the top 10, which is pretty darn good. Brightlyiburn has Hs all over her 'stories' page, and how many of those stories have sex scenes? About six or seven, I think out of something like twenty five. Only two or three stories don't have H. I think this is bcause both these authors write for 'romance' category and we romantics like a slow build-up. So, even in chapters where there is no sex and only chemistry, they get good scores. I was quite surprised to see 'to tempt the devil' do that well, because it's romance genre and hasn't got that much sex (and this is literotica after all) but I think part of its success is to do with its length and the more overall picture it presented. It wasn't fragmented, so one could enjoy it more.

I think a lot of it is one's when stories get high but I guess after it was pointed out that I have numerous "hot" stories so I will leave it at that.

I see a pattern with regard to the shorter stories doing better, but there are some really shit stories, just intrinsically shit. They never do well, except in some of the fetish categories.

Short's good. Folks like it.

But you seem to have met with relative success, actually. You don't really bomb, in other words.
