Why do men always get accused of "making" a woman pregnant?

Doesn't it take two to create a child??

I have just always wondered why it is always the man who gets blamed. I would think that a woman would be more apt to take care of her body and pregnancy prevention. Is that not true anymore?

We are easy to blame. What are you going to say, "I didn't do it?" A likely defense, but it usually fails. They can get pregnant without us and make two or more of themselves. Now future generations of men can put up with the same shit we have to.

...and I love women :)

Some women send their spouses in for the big "V" in order not to get pregnant again. Personally, I would prefer to have myself taken care of. That way I would know for sure.

It's a sexist thing.

We need to break down these barriers or men will never succeed in life.

We need a tittle 69 where men are treated equally.

I say if a man has to get the big V then the woman should get tubes tied as well.

Why is that, though?? Didn't she open her legs to take him inside?? How can they blame a man?

dont know. some people arent strong enough to own up to the responsibility of their actions. they dont want to come right out and say it was a mistake becuase most parents would never say that about their children. some are afraid and need someone to take the heat off of themselves for a while so they can sort things out on their own. all in all its just way too convenient for most people. it seems as though our culture has evolved to the point where men assume blame for things that should be shared at the least. besides preganancy is a beautiful thing why does anyone need to be blamed damn it!

some times yes. just happens i guess. some people have problems with reality. i can only accept responsibility for my own actions.

The big V is more effective than getting your tubes tied.

Perhaps because in our society, over the years, 'getting' a woman pregnant was a sign of maleness, as in the husband got his wife pregnant. A way to show to the public that he was/is a stud. Then as we progressed throught the years single girls started to get pregnant and it still had the same conotation, for different reasons. (she was a slut to get pregnant, he was a stud to get her pregnant). Perhaps someday...in the future...it won't have quite the same effect. Until those days come...Oh well...guess one has to put up with the neanderthalness of it.

Dunno about that, Angelpuss...I know of more wives who got pregnant after their husbands had the big "V" than women who got pregnant after their tubes were tied.

hmkay, well according to the doctors in my family, a vasectomy is much more effective than the standard tied tubes.

Cut and Tied on the other hand, I believe is much more effective as there is nowhere for the egg to sneak through.

Some women would rather not be cut and tied in case they change their mind and want it reversed. My friend got tied a year ago and decided not to get cut.

I would have assumed a doctor would discuss every option with you - they did with me two years ago when I was seriously contemplating getting it done.

He probably did but don't forget that I was pregnant with my fourth child at the time...who remembers what was said?? Besides that, I just knew that I wanted things shut down as soon as that baby came out. It was my body...I wanted the oven closed. The doctor actually tried to talk me into waiting six months...there was no way.

It's the guys fault for not being porn stars. We should know every lady wants a hot load across the lips.

Well, at least you're over the age of 30. I found it extremely difficult to find a doctor willing to even discuss the possibility of having the procedure done either way at 22, and I was told by all of them that they prefer not to do it on a woman under the ages of 26-30.

I'm happy I didn't do it, but it would have been nice not having to struggle just to discuss it.

Most Ob/Gyn's won't do it within six months of giving birth either. I just talked him into it. I was pretty damn sure and nothing would change my mind.
