Why do gays care if a gay turns straight?

It seems like gay militants and gay lovin' heteros go bezerk over the idea of gay conversion. Much of the absolute hatred toward Congresswoman Bachmann seems to stem from her connections to gay conversion organizations. In California, the extremely pro-gay legislature has even outlawed gay conversion therapy.

The question is, why the hell do they care so much? Isn't it a matter of personal choice if one wants to change one's sexual lifestyle?

Although, it does have much to do with numbers. They want to increase their share of the population while not losing any current members to the "other team."

However, that alone doesn't explain the sheer hysterical hatred for conversion. I believe the reason for the extreme reaction is because of jealousy. They can't overcome their gay urges, so they resent anyone else who does.

Primarily because we/they know from their own experiences and/or tales of gay friends' experiences that it's a 99% probability that a gay person who believes themselves converted to heterosexuality is only heading for hurting themselves further down the road and possibly hurting the lives of others if they decide to get married to the opposite gender, maybe even have kids while they are in a believing they are straight phase. I leave that 1% out there for homosexuals who are stubborn/afraid/delusional enough to believe in their conversion until the end of their lives.

Secondly, it adds to the chances of convincing other homosecuals they can "convert" again causing more potential hurt.

And Thirdly, it hurts the progress of homosexual rights if people on the other side of the argument falsely believe it is a choice not a biological disposition.

There's no such thing as conversion therapy. The practice was outlawed because fake medical and psychological treatments that are ineffective and harm people should be illegal.
