Is this man something or what? Lies to Cheney and Wolfy, pulls down the big bucks from the pentagon, sends the USA into a quagmire war, topples the government of Iraq, sells secrets to the Iranians, and then gets Tenet to resign from the CIA!

Do you think green kryptonite will have any effect?

And don't Cheney and Wolfowitz remind you of two mid-Amercian rubes who just found out they were fleeced on a carpet they'd bought from a wiley Arab? "You mean he LIED to us?!?!"

If he lied to Cheney, it was consensual.

Cheney wore that short little skirt and no panties, and went to Chalabi's room, and didn't think he'd be lied to?

Seriously. Everybody in Washington knew exactly what Chalabi's agenda was. He offered his services and was turned away by the CIA throughout the previous administration and by Colin Powell's State Department, because it was commonly believed that he'd say anything to achieve an invasion of Iraq.

Then he met Dick Cheney, and suddenly he was on our payroll. Mr. Credibility.

Cheney and Chalabi are soulmates. Even their names look alike. They're the yin and yang of evil.

Just remind me:

which one was the monkey

and which was the organ grinder.

Congress was the monkey, collecting coins from the crowd. Bush was the organ grinder. Cheney and Chalabi took turns beating him up and stealing the change.

During the last State of the Union adress, Ahmet was given the place of honor right next to Laura Bush. Sic Transit Gloria.

There's a big piece on Chalabi in the recent New Yorker. They quote a high up CIA man named Baer who said Chalabi was one of the smartest guys he ever met, but that he was also an inveterate liar and self-promoter, and that everyone in the CIA and most of the people in Washington knew it.

Chalabi's involvement with Iran goes way back into the '90's, when he was trying to talk them into overthrowing Saddam. Speculation is, that's why he was feeding them intelligence. He wanted to keep them on his side for after the US pullout, when he expects the Iranians to pretty much call the shots in Iraq.

Is Cheney really that much of a rube not to know when he's being jobbed? Or was it just a matter of finding someone who'll tell you what you want to hear? They said that all the intel Chalabi gave them was unverifiable: like about the Iraqis welcoming the Americans with flowers and kisses and the WMD stuff.

Willl the administration dare to bring charges against him? I think not. Too embarrassing, and Chalabi still has defenders in the DOD. There's some question whether what he did was even illegal, since the secrets he passed were in Iraq, were aparently freely given to him, and Ahmet isn't a US citizen.

Meanwhile it looks like Chalabi just manipulated the administration into this war, and they fell for it.
