Why can't George be more like Tony?

Blair has just finished a two hour press conference on Iraq. He answered all questions, ducking none. He was unmovable in his comments that Iraq is beyond the pale and the quicker Saddam is removed the better. He was more hawish than Bush and even some of Bush's own hawks. He is determined to go to war in support of America. He did not speak in rhetoric. He came across as an honest man who has had enough of a regime which, as he said, is the only one to have used weapons of mass destruction against its own people. He believes that Iraq is near to obtaining a nuclear capability. And he said no country sends its young people off to war with no overwhelmingly good reason. He has promised to publish a dossier on Iraq within the next few weeks.

He said much the same thing as Bush has been saying but with more conviction.

I hope you get to see some of it on your news channels later.

He's nearly convinced me.

Let's see what the dossier has to say.

Is it possible you Brits demand more from your elected officials than the jumbled bullshit we get from ours?

Your points are excellent, but everytime I see Anthony Blair, all I can think of his how much Mrs. Tweedy from Chicken Run resembles him. Sorry for ruining a perfectly good thread with such an observation.

Nope! Ours have just elevated spin to an unprecendented level.

And cliche ridden Blair is the greatest spinner of all.

That said, at least Blair raises his head above the parapet. The opposition are non existent.

The problem with Tony is that when I watch him on TV I can't concentrate on what he's saying because I am too busy mentally loosening his tie... unbuttoning his shirt...

He's got charisma, that man

Good speech writer, good spin doctor, even attractive (to women) but charisma?

Please, a headstone has more charisma (and life) than Blair!
