Why aren't more people writing about Game of Thrones?

It's surprising how there is very few material here on Lit on the very popular Tv series. I'm sure it is viewed and followed by many members and writers here on Lit as well.

Two reasons, first is rather simple, nobody is writing sex stories about it because it happens on the show. I mean you blink and there is a sex scene apparently.

Second reason is a little obvious. Not many write up celebrity stories to begin with, and those that do tend to go with ones that are not current, or at least not likely to toss a fit, like comic superheroes. The actual celebrity is used after superheroes.

Until recently, if one googled the name Maisie Williams, masturbation, they would have seen a dead on look-a-like of Maisie masturbating.

I don't agree with your first reason. There are a lot of erotic scenes in the show, but that's no reason for people not to write. I do feel your second reason makes more sense.

The main reason I think as to why people don't attempt to write about the show is because things can get complex. Without a proper knowledge about the background of the characters and the history of events, it is not possible to write a convincing sex story. The show itself follows numerous characters along their life's journey with has a strong connection to their past as well. So basically, it's not a simple task and cannot be pulled off like other celebrity or superhero stories.

You could just use the GoT universe. Use the major characters to set history storyline. Lots of sell-swords, minor knights, whores and ladies in Lannister army and baggage train. Some other not-quite-The Hound type of character could have escaped King"s Landing during the Battle of the Blackwater with a lady or maid of some description.

For those knowledgeable about GoT you would not have to break with canon. A quick Wikia view should let others make up a storyline.

I would love to do a GoT or WoIaF rp.

TV and porn sites don't go together. ;)It's been so long since we've watched TV we forgot how to turn the thing on!

There are enough story ideas in real life without copying stupid TV shows;).

If you want GoT fanfiction, looking at a fanfiction archive might be a better strategy...

I saw that clip before came down. She looked exactly like Maisai Williams but I honestly assume it was not her.

Because the bucket of over rated suck already has more attention than it deserves.

That and I second E-map that its a sex fest as it is, what more can you write? It has lesbian, group, non con(plenty of that, seems Martin has a bit of woman hater in him as every female character has been abused at some point) incest etc....

GOT is a teenage boys fantasy come true, tits, swords, tits, dragons, tits, bloody fights, tits, torture, tits tits and rape.

I've only watched one episode and run across the occasional blog post (like right now I wish the gods of the Internet would understand I have no idea who Hodoe is and don't really care) but yeah, when there's sex abound there ain't much fan fiction can add...maybe some hot (consensual) man on man sex, I'm taking a wild guess that there isn't much of that going on.

You could do setting sex but then how would it differ from just making up your own middle age world?

I mean, there's a reason there's plenty of Warcraft fanart and fiction: sex exists but you never officially see it and the different races allow for weird fetishes to get played out...and because Blizzard always backs down from allowing female models that don't have at least a few elements of conventional attractiveness but that's neither here nor there. In Warcraft, if you want see a muscular green guy fuck a curvy panda, then you just need to write it up or start drawing.

Whereas GoT, you can write about people who are already fucking, do crack pairings (people who would never actually meet, let alone have Sex, or write about the grubby background and side characters who are indistinguishable from the grubby side and characters in any low magic setting)
