Why are you here? Why do you write pornographic and/or erotic stories?

I'm just curious because I don't have an answer to my own question. I don't know why I'm here. I don't know why I write pornographic and/or erotica stories.

When you can write anything, why write pornography/erotica? Why write pornographic and/or erotica stories? What's the attraction? Why are you here?

I suspect that I write erotica because of the horrific sexual abuse I suffered as a child. Writing erotica to me is as if I was bitten by a vampire. I can't help myself.

Yet, I'm one of the lucky ones. Most of those who were as sexually abused as I was don't survive. They turn to alcohol, drugs, suicide, and/or even become abusers themselves. I drank heavily from 14 to 22 but no more.

Yet, even after years of therapy and years of trying to fix my broken life, even going back to school to graduate from college, here I am writing erotica on a porn board.

The really strange part is after hearing my drunken, whore of mother having sex with my four brothers, one, two, three, and four at a time, I would think that I'd never want to write a mother/son incest story, but I enjoy writing them. Having lived it, now that's twisted for a woman to get a kick out of writing mother/son incest stories.

That's not to say, if I had a child that I'd have sex with him or her, I wouldn't. The worst thing that anyone can do is to have sex with their child or with any minor under the age of 18. Trust me, I know the negative ramifications first hand.

So, what's your reason? Why do you write X-rated stories? Why are you here reading X-rated stories. What happened to you?

Maybe by knowing why you write pornography/erotica will help me to understand why I write pornography/erotica.

I'm just curious.

In the grand scheme of things war and sex reign supreme.

I strive for the nugget, kernel, and jewel of any experience's expression. If it hadda go on a Hallmark card, what would it be?

It's fun, it's easy and it's a break from mainstream writing. I can write the way I want.

I started out doing mainstream writing and wrote several novel length manuscripts. Now for the past 8 years, I don't write anything other than erotica.

Thank you for your post.

Life is too short to read or write boring mainstream shit. So I write porn. I'm here because in an internet universe filled with crappy porn sites Literotica is relatively classy, for a porn site. There are remarkably few assholes here. Less than are on the road every morning when I drive to work and way way less than inhabit everywhere east of the Mississippi or west of the Rockies.

Hmm, I must be in a bad mood tonight. Guess it's time to go kick the dog. JK

I write at Literotica because it's easy to publish here and get both practice and feedback. That it just happens to be an erotic site is immaterial. I find it good practice for my real writing that I am working on improving and selling to more mainstream markets.

Everyone else has said it :) I find it liberating on a few levels.

I'm sorry to hear about your story. I know everyone has shit in their trunk that either they find a way to air or sort through, or it consumes them. Writing erotica was an escape for me during a time in my life where things were pretty much stuck together with sticky tape. :D So for me, it's just a hobby as any other.

As my name implies, I have a lot of fantasies. Writing erotica is a great way to explore that part of my life.

It's habit. For more than 50 years I have made my living (mainly) from writing. I write. And then I write. And then - as a sort of comic relief - I write something very different from the day-to-day stuff. But, that said, I find writing erotica a surprisingly useful form of exercise.

By the way, despite what my sister says, I don't write porn. :)

I used to write erotica exclusively and post it here at lit. Then I moved most of them to Smashwords and found a true indicator of what people thought about what I wrote...I made money for my work.

Then something happened...I wrote my first non-erotic work. I was hooked. I enjoy not having to mess with the sex. While characters were in love, there was really no sex. When the bedroom door closed, the reader is shut out.

So now I mainly work on my non-erotic stories.

Because if I didn't write I would probably just kill myself.

I can relate to that more than you know. Writing has been my salvation. Writing is my therapy. I can't go a day without writing. I must write to survive and thrive.

I don't know what it is to have a normal life where I actually go out and do something other than writing. Writing is my life.

Thank you. When my marriage was failing, the first time he hit me, that was an overwhelming eye opener and if I didn't fight back, he would have consumed me. He would have ended me.

I only wished I had a better relationship with my four big brothers because, all bad men, they would have ended him. Only, they were already gone out of my life with jobs and family in Michigan and Ohio. Besides, if I never saw any of my crazy family, especially my mother, I'm better off.

Thanks for your post.

Your sister? Hmm...that's a curious remark.

It would be more common to say, girlfriend, wife, or even your mother but sister...

Now there's a story that begs interest. So, tell me. What does your sister look like? Are you close to her...if you know what I mean (lol).

Being that this is Literotica, have you kissed your sister, I mean, really kissed your sister, French kissed your sister.

"C'mon, Sis, I'm writing a story about a brother who's in love with his sister and I need to do research."

"Okay, okay, I'll take off my clothes and you can have sex with my body just this once...for you...and for your research. Only...don't tell my boyfriend...or my husband...or my lesbian girlfriend."

See? You just can't mention sister and leave her hanging like that (lol).

Sorry if I offended you but I couldn't help myself. Not everyone is into incest here.

Don't you sometimes find your erotic thoughts seeming in your non-erotic writing.

"Good morning Mother. How are you today?"

His mother look at him with love and understanding.

"You should take Lassie out for a walk today. With all that rain we got yesterday, he didn't have much of a walk. Then, after your walk, we'll go to church."

Then, when his mother turned to the side, one of the buttons of her blouse was unbuttoned. As if she was standing there without a blouse, Timmy could see her white bra. He could see her milky white breasts. As if waving to him, her breast jiggled with her every movement. Suddenly, undressing her with his eyes, Timmy looked at his mother as if she was standing there naked.

"Okay, Mother."

See? If it was me, I'd always want to insert erotic writing in non-erotic writing. I couldn't even write copy for a newsroom without making it erotic.

"Sorry, Susan, but your fired as a newsroom writer."

"Fired? Why?"

"You spent more time describing the fireman carrying the naked woman down the ladder than you did on the fire, the real story."

"Oh, sorry."

Fantasies? Sexual fantasies? With naked people.

"Wait just lemme remove my panties, get my dildo and vibrator, and fluff up some pillows. Okay. I'm listening. Tell me about your fantasies and...skip the part about Helen and tell me about Brad first (lol)."

As I wrote to Zeb, don't you find it difficult to go from writing erotica to writing mainstream?

While writing a normal story, as in the way that the movie The Secretary started, I'd have my character bending over a desk, removing her pantyhose and panties for her boss to paddle her ass.

I'd have a hard time going from one to the other.

"Susan," said her publisher. "What does you giving your main character a blowjob have to do with your story? It doesn't fit. It's jarring. You go from a scene with a history professor lecturing to you giving him a blowjob on stage."

"Allow me to show you," said Susan kneeling in front of him.

'Zzzzzzzip!"

"Oh, oh, oh, the scene makes sense to me now," said her publisher putting a gentle hand to the back of Susan's blonde, pretty head. Less teeth, Susan, less teeth. Yeah, that's it."

No. If those arose ;) I wrote an erotic story. A short story, about three minutes worth. ;)
